Hello Kitty...The hubby and I get summoned for jury duty all the time. I served on grand jury last year for three months but the hubby always gets dismissed when he calls the number the night before on the phone. I know it says you need a doctors note, but when I served, they put us in a room with a judge and he asked if anyone had a good reason not to serve and each one walked up and told him why they couldn't. He just dismissed them...no problem. If your system is more adament about a doctors note, maybe you could just go to one of those walk in clinics with your history and get something in writing.
LOL... how about just sitting there and saying "What??? What did you say??? Sorry I couldn't hear you... WHAT???" (my apologies to any of us..including myself that's hard of hearing).. make them think you can't hear them. That way you couldn't hear what's going on with the case. I've known other people who have gotten out of jury duty with that.
And I agree with Marlee.. why can't someone in the doc's office handle it?
Hope you can get out of it. I know there's no way I could sit in on a trial for more than an hour. First of all I have to pee every 15 mins and secondly I can't sit for too long because of fibro and my back problems.
