I have not given up my carbonated / caffeinated beverage yet. I need it to make it through my busy day.
I tend to forget where I put them as I wonder through my house and sometimes simply forget I even had one. I will sometimes have several of them in various areas....
My wife has trained my three-year-old Angel to pick up Daddy's pop and take it to him whenever she sees one.......
My girls keep an eye out for Daddy!! :)

Thats sweet, I use to leave mine on top of my car and drive off. I had to quit drinking them because of the emmense amount of toxins in diet coke. I still drink one once in in awhile. But I know how it is to keep one or 2 more drinks going because I can't find the one I just started. Needless to say it is a family joke. Glad I am not the only one that does it.

Jokat, I used to drink tons of the stuff, I just love it, but my Cardiologist cut me off, of course I was drinking 2 - 3 bottles of it aday, as well as 3 Dbl shot lattes & that's alot of caffeine. I tried to explain I needed it to function, he took alway all caffeine. No pop, no coffee, no tea & I crashed big time. Not from withdrawal though, from my fatigue. I had no withdrawal symptoms at all, I just got really sleepy & stayed that way for days & days. I finally had a cup of coffee & you know what happened? I woke up!!! I got up & got dressed & did the dishes & laundry & felt so good for about 2 hours. Then the caffeine wore off & I got sleepy & laid back down for another few days until I decided, I can't do this for the rest of my life. So I drink coffee & the pop but just in moderation, I have really cut down but I am up & awake again. No one ever believes me that I need this to stay awake, they always think it is an addiction. LOL!!! Take care, hugs, Denise

Without the caffein I would be a walking Zombie too. I usually drink 5 or 6 cans of Diet coke throughout the course of a normal day.

I know it is not good for me, but what is? :)

Left a full can of soda at the salon yesterday. I had only taken a few sips. Sat it on the counter to pay my bill and walked out without it. Darn. It was the last one I had on hand, too.

I can't pass up sodas with their great taste and the bubbles trickling down my throat. Being diabetic it's hard to drink regular ones, but the diet ones seem to make my fybro worse.

its the aspartame in the diet ... its is one of the really big no no's when you have fibro...

I had to cut out all caffiene so i switched over to flavored sparkling water.. there are some with aspartame but some do come without..

I find them more refreshing than pop and it don't make my fibro worse
The doc also told me that diet pop is worse for you because there is no calories in it so i can make you crave sweets more than regular pop..because you are not getting the carbs
although that doesn't help if you are diabetic...

Jokat! That is hilarious! I think I would like to try the flavored sparkling water. Has anyone tried sparkling water and fruit juice? That might be a little better than coke - and it would still have bubbles!

I don't think it's available nationwide, but Crystal Geyers has a product on the west coast called Juice Squeeze. It is a blend of fruit juice and sparkling water (70% juice), no added sweetners. Comes in several flavors and they're all good. Also fortified with vitamin B12. Very refreshing and easy on the tummy.

My experience with the flavored sparkling water is that it tastes like Alka Seltzer.... :(

Caffiene free Coke is just as good as the regular stuff, but the sugar is still there.... I just want to know why soft drinks made with Splenda have to be icky sweet.

I drink Coke all day long, I may have a cup of coffee or two, maybe a chai latte, but I always go back to the Coke. If I run out, I get a headache until I get some more and on rare dragging the bum but have things to do anyway days.. My pharmasist showed me a very weak caffine pill, it has less caffine than a cup of coffee, but sometimes is just the kick needed to get it in gear.
