I can't swallow some of the many pills I take.  I chew up my fish oil capsule. skull   Horrible taste but only way I can get it down-it is soooo big.   Started taking malic and half of the time I can't swallow that capsule either so I chew it too.  I think I'm afraid I'm going to choke on them.  I'm thinking about taking with a tablespoon of applesauce to see if I can swallow whole.  Anyone else have this problem?

I also have trouble swallowing my pills and have to take them one at a time, but I can't imagine chewing up my fish oil pill.  Your really tough.

I have had a problem with swallowing for some time.  Two years ago I had to have emergency surgery to remove two pieces of pork chop that got hung in my esophagus.  For some reason it just closes off and won't go on down.  I rarely eat steak anymore, because I'm so afraid of it lodging.

I don't know if this has anything to do with fibro or not.  I would like to hear from some more about this subject.

God Bless!

People always find it amusing when I take my pills cause I have to shove them way back in my throat, cause I will gag otherwise. If I get the smallest taste of any of my pills, I will vomit, I dont know why that is. I get jealous of people who can just toss like 10 pills at once into their mouths and swallow with no issues.

Yes, I have trouble swallowing pills also. I have to take them all one at a time and sometimes they get caught, not that I choke, but they get caught and I have to drink and drink and drink water. I watch my husband take a HANDFUL of pills/supplements, just shoves them in his mouth with one swallow of water and they are down!

Your pharmacist understands this and can prepare liquid meds for you. Fish oil comes in liquid form. Do not suffer.

I absolutely can't swallow any pills with water, no matter how small or slick they are. I usually take pills with yogurt and/or milk (luckily they are all compatible). Big pills like my multivitamin I will take with a mouthful of yogurt and then wash down with milk. Applesauce and juice would probably work too if you are lactose affected. I never used to have to worry about this - until a few months ago I was the person who could pop ten pills at once. If I don't use wit food or milk they will get stuck and I'll get heartburn.

Thanks.  I did not think about yogurt. I've been eating Activia since someone on this forum said it helped with tummy problems.  I'll try that tomorrow.  I use to be able to swallow all my pills but the last few years it has become a problem with the larger ones.

I can take handful of pills, but my mother in-law has a problem with it. She breaks up her pills and stirs them in applesauce and then eats it. Works for her.
