AAAH - CHOOOOO!!!

Well as much as I LOVE Spring I hate the tree pollen it brings.  Here in N/E Indiana the trees haven't quite started to green up, we don't even have those beautiful flowering trees blooming yet.  But we are just starting to get the dreaded tree pollen that I'm really allergic to.  For the past few years when my allergies kick in I seem to get eye infections.  I don't know if its the chronic dry eye that makes it happen or if I have somekind of chronic eye infection.   I'm planning on getting to the doctor tomorrow.  At the moment I'm using some eye meds (the stuff you use for stys) and warm compresses.  Eye infections aren't only painful but they effect my vision.  Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention.  It's always in the left eye.  It looks as if someone punched me in the eye, really swollen and red around the rim.

So, if you have allergies do you have the same problem?

Panda, my allergies were the worst EVER this year in Florida. Honestly never used to even suffer but for some reason the pollen went on forever here. I had the itchy watery eyes but no infection. Get that checked out esp. in just one eye. It could be something unrelated to allergy.

WE have just gotten through most of the nasty stuff but our days are so very windy. I also cannot remember so much wind. Seems I don't breathe well either, add it to the list, right?

Let us know what the doc says,

Patsie

Patti, my eyes get itchy and red in the spring and sometimes they are so gunky in the mornings I can hardly get them open. I had my right eye rubbed raw last weekend it itched so bad. We have some beautiful trees in bloom and my tulips are blooming. The pollen is thick right now. Some of us can't seem to enjoy any season. shakehead

luv and hugs

Marlee.. are you north or south of Chicago?  We're about 150 miles east and just a hair south of Chicago.

Patsie Mc Panda's Buddy... Yep, you might as well just get a longer sheet of paper for your fibro list, its seems like the symptoms go on and on and on and on and on and on again!!!!

I didn't really have very many allergies till I got Lyme.  Now it seems I'm allergic or sensitive to just about everything.  GRRR!!!

*sniffle* and Hugs...

I have to agree with Patsie, get your eye's checked out by a doctor, an eye doctor,
I had a chronic infection for three years and it turned out to be cause by sjogren's
and had eye plugs put in and restasis eye drop plus an antibotic eye drop, and for
the first time in years I think the infecton has cleared up, so get your eye's checked,
unfortuntaly, i did get scratches on my corneas.....so get your
eye's checked before you get scratched corneas...............
Keep us posted..............

My eyes get itchy in the spring but I do everything to try to keep from rubbing them.  Maybe germs on your hands are getting transferred to the delicate eye membranes and causing the infection.  If you need to rub your eyes, I'd use a clean tissue and maybe, just maybe this would help some.  I think there are drops that can help with the eye allergies, too.

Its 6:45 am and my doctor's office opens at 8:00.  They're great about getting you in on the day that you call.  IF I can get in at 8:05 that wouldn't be soon enough.

I woke up this morning with LOTS of swelling.  Under my eye is swollen out as far as my nose.  I can barely see out of it because of the swelling, gook and tearing.  ACK!!!  Its awful. mad    It looks like I have a black eye or something.  Its (the skin) bluish, purpley, red.

I can't have problems with my eyes!!!  I'm the only person in this house that isn't blind!!!!  GRRRR!!!

Its almost like a sty.  There's like a little pimple on the bottom lid.

This stinks.. I'm going on vacation on Thursday.  It better be better by then.

I'll let you know what's going on as soon as I come back from the Dr's office.

Thanks for all of your input!!

OK Folks.. no big surprise.. I have a "nasty stye" I must have rubbed it in my sleep so it got pretty swollen.  The swelling is probably causing added pressure on my already "inflamed sinuses".  So no need to dial 911 over this one.  Just gonna be uncomfortable for a couple of days.  No biggie!!  Yay!!

Thanks for your concern ..

Big hugs..

I'm glad it's not infected and use lots and lots of warm compresses..
You'd be surprized how a warm compress works and use a warm wash cloth
and wrap it around a wood spoon as that'll keep the heat longer..
Soft HUGZ.......
sure hope it's better soon......
