I got out of bed this morning and could not put any pressure on my left leg.  The pain was coming from my ankle.  I tried not to put much pressure on it but over the day it began to feel better.

Has this happened to anyone?

I just had my first ankle and foot pain too, last week. I was walking thru the grocery store, fine one moment, the next having to lean on the cart because my foot and ankle started screaming. It got a little better but I could still feel the nerves stretched tight later that night. It made me sad because it felt like my body was breaking down piece by piece, like realizing places you don't have pain, and a week or whenever later, you do.

That happens to me all of the time.  Sometimes it's my foot, and sometimes it's my ankle (happens on both sides).  I don't know if it is from sleeping on it wrong or if it is just some weird fibro thing (or some combination thereof).

Like yours, mine usually gets better as the day wears on.  Since it's temporary and goes away, I just chalk it up to fibro.  confused

For about 6 months or so, my ankles are extremely stiff when I get out of bed.  However, they limber up quickly when I walk a bit and also when I exercise them by drawing the letters of the alphabet with my feet while I sit on the edge of the bed. I also make circles (and other fun designs smilewinkgrin ) with my feet this way.  Even when riding the 6 miles to town in the car my ankles get extremely stiff.  Can't figure out why, though!!

I have had problems with that on and off. My massage therapist and fibro family members suggested doing stretches and it has help A LOT!!! I think that's why you felt better after a while, because you stretched it out. Luvsminis, had a great suggestion. I would recommend the stretches she suggested and check out the stretches on fibro 101.
A lot of our pain is from stiffness, so stretching helps more than you could know.
Hope you're feeling better today!!

Hey guys,

I've been suffering with foot and ankle pain for almost 2 years now.  It came on very suddenly.  I was diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis in the left foot and ankle, and Metatarsalgia in the right foot.  It's all Fibro related.  I got custom orthotics made and they do help quite a bit. Stretching and proper exercises are good too.  I know how painful this is.  It's excruciating most of the time.
