With tyno3 here, whatever floats your boat, but I'm completly against people using that except maybe for people with advance cancer or AIDS, but I think it's sad that anyone with a sore toe can get a prescription for that stuff. And it seems like alot of people dont know this but withdrawals from that stuff (and yes, it does cause withdrawals) mimics schizophrenia. I just did a class at a center for addictions and one side is an inpatent rehab and alot of people where going through withdrawals from it and they had no idea that it exsisted, so be careful.

ps, I thought it was against the rules to talk about this stuff???

Not only is this discussion against forum rules, we do need to keep in mind we have kids as  young as 13 on this forum.  Please abide by the rules.

It is important to draw the line along prescribed vs. non-prescribed medicines. The 13 year old can just as easily be influenced to abuse any prescription med. If a doctor prescribes a medicine, for a specific patient, for a particular disease or symptom, it matters not whether it is turpentine, fetanyl, or buckleys. The line is drawn where the prescription begins.

Hypothyroidism, Fibromyalgia, Facet Joint Syndrome, High Blood Pressure, menopause, Migraines, Chest Pain, Anxiety and Depression/BiPolar II
Synthyroid .075mg., estradiol.5 mgs., Amyltriptilene, 100mgs, bedtime, Tylenol 3 PRN (six-eight, daily), Valium 7.5mgs. daily prn. Flexeril, prn (not so helpful), Zoloft,150mgs., Zomig approx. 12 per month, prn., Meds for High Blood Pressure, vary.

May I reiteriterate? What difference does it make what medicine we speak of as long as it was medically prescribed, legally, by a physician and it is taken according to directions? What is the deal here with the judgemental approach to certain medicines, medicines that may bring comfort, peace, and functionality to our members. I ran into the same sort of "we don't talk about the dirty little secret, some of us have to take stimulants to stay alive with Fibro, otherwise we'd die due to a lack of basic essentials". If you need adderall to work and make a living, and your doc agrees, well then that's that. If you are prescribed tetrahydrocannibol by your doc, in order for you to function (see how I got around the 13 years old read these posts, issues with the forty dollar word), who are we trying to kid? Why the big hush hush. You don't think that 13 year old knows that word. Sure she does. She even has words for it you wouldn't even recognise. This is real life folks. Nobody gets out alive. Can we be honest and not make a member who needs our comfort and support apologise over and over, for asking a question. C'mon people. Dear Hurting07, i sincerely want to apologize on behalf of this forum, it's members, and myself for making you feel bad over a simple, basic question. I am truly sorry, that should not have happened. If we want to go down the "let's judge one another road" my cannon is loaded and on standby. Wake up, people.Rules, rules make us feel a sense of certainty in an uncertain world. It gives a false sense of control over an out of control, random universe. We, that trusted banks, and stockbrokers with our meager earnings so we'd have a fall back position should we live to 65, trusted them because of the "rules". well, guess what? They couldn't care less about their own rules, or ours or anybody's as they stuffed their suitcases full of ill gotten gains and headed for a flight to a country with no extradition treaty with the US. There's rules and then there's humanity. Don't get me going. Heck, I'll be barred for breaking rule number 17 G-1a, and have to resort to posting on the Migraine forum.

Tyno, we didn't make the rules up.  Our administrator did.  To be a member you agree to abide by the rules.  That's why we have such a good forum here.  No one has been attacked.  If members don't abide by the rules, we remind them.  That's what we agreed to when we became mods.

We do talk about prescribed medication.  You have been here long enough to know that.  What works for one doesn't necessarily work for another.  The drug mentioned in this thread is an illegal drug in most of our states.  So, it is against forum rules.  I will edit the daylights out of those posts.  Period.

If you still have a problem, please email our administrator and he can answer your concerns.

I agree with Sherrine. This is not the forum to take up that particular issue. If it is legalized, then it is up for discussion.

We have all seen the forums that are not regulated and they are far from ideal. I appreciate the regulated format of this forum and the good work done by our moderators to keep it productive.

Thank you JoKat,

It is our duty to uphold the rules. And in the rules it clearly states that this is not up for discussion. People may always email eachother if they want to discuss a certain subject that is off limits on the forum. With this being said, I hope that this thread comes to an end. And as Sherrine said, members can always email the administrator if they disagree with any rule.

Best wishes for you all to have a good day.

Hugs, Karen

I have a question re: the rules on medical marijuana. (I hope it's ok to say that?) What about states like Michigan, which has legalized the use of MM? If there are members here who have gotten a legal prescription here (or in CA, or ORE or..I think there's others, but I'm not sure) and use MM for pain? Are they allowed to discuss it since they do in fact have a legal prescription to use it? I would think it should be OK if we're discussing something that's legal.

Not trying to be adversarial here..just wondering how that works.

The administrator still does not want it discussed on the forum. Sorry.

It is illegal in most states.  I said that earlier.  This is getting old really fast!!!  If you want to discuss this with people in  your state, email them.  It is NOT allowed on this forum.  You are free to contact the administrator, who runs this site and makes the rules, and discuss it with him.  Until we hear otherwise, this is not allowed.

Now, please, I think we have made ourselves very, very clear on the subject.

Danielle, I'm sorry, too.  I'm just getting very tired of repeating the same thing.  I'm just doing my job and not getting paid for it either!  smilewinkgrin    The rules of the forum are VERY clear and we do have to abide by them.  If this ever becomes totally legal in all states, I'm sure that will be taken out of the forum rules.  Advising people on things that are illegal is definitely not the way this forum will go.  If it is legal in your state and you want to discuss it, you need to find members from your state and email back and forth.
