Yes, me and my daughter were driving the other day and saw purple ribbons on trees and polls. We didn't know what they were for. That must be it!!!!!

Thanks for posting this! I always forget until the last minute...lol Oh surprise!

Just a reminder to anyone who is interested...as posted in Fibro 101, we have free Fibro ribbons to anyone who asks for them. Go ahead and read about them there and check out the link to the picture. They are a deep purple with silver writing that says... "My Fibro Family Cares". This is obviously about our fibro family here on Healing Well but can also refer to the larger family of people who truly understand and live with fibro every hour of their lives.

If you want a ribbon just click on the little envelope under my name over there <--- and tell me where to send it. That's all it takes. These are a small gift from your moderators and not from Healing Well.

Yup... got my ribbon from our Fibro Family a couple of months ago.  I plan to wear it that day.  Ironically it's the same day as my boss's birthday.. so I hope she doesn't mind sharing the day.  Anyway, the ribbons are really nice and I'm so happy I got mine in time!!  :-) (I'm a planner so I thought ahead for this one)

Later taders...

Thank-you, thank-you, Thank-you: This has been one h--- of a week. We are finally in the "new house, after every kind of setback imaginable, and still taking s--- from the landlords. There appear to be four of them. There's the fellow nobody ever sees, kinda like the wizard of Oz, always behind the curtain, unreachable. Then his mother who actually is a rather congenial lady, whom I spoke almost exclusively to, as he was never available. Two weeks ago Sunday, after jumping through immeasurable hoops, she (The Ma), called to say, sorry, someone else was chosen. So I continued my search. Two days later, lo and behold, the wizard speaks; he called to say, the first choice never showed up, so did I still want it. Since I had redirected my efforts and was begining to panic (a bit), I said yes. So then I lays all my money on Ma's table and she says he'll, Mr. behind the curtain, would draw up a lease and leave it at the house for me to sign. OK. However, it's May 1st, my tenancy has commenced and lo and behold, no key. So Ma redirects me to some in between lady who apparently is the Propery owner. She refuses to give me a key, I said "call him". She did and he said, give her a key. OK. So all the previous tenant's furniture is still in the house, BIG furniture, so I obviously can't move all my stuff in 1 trip, so it ends up being a dozen. As we finally get set up almost well enough to live, after seven days, the former tenant shows up for her stuff. They basically slew my stuff wherever, and dragged all their stuff out. So finally, we begin to set up house. Next thing I know, this forth person is chasing me up my steps bit----- about, well, everything. I was just returning with a (hopefully) final load, after nearly killing myself cleaning the place we're leaving, and she want's to know when I plan to pull the weeds in the garden. Like I been sitting on my butt for the past two weeks, watching the dandilions grow. Well, if that's going to be my attitude she's calling the wizard to come over and set me straight. Somethings going to get straight, not likely me. Enough, already. Thank-you for listening. I wish people could realize what stress does to us. I am close to dead, sore, fed up, stiff, angry, you name it. Really appreciate the article on Sympathetic vs. Parasympathetic systems. Happt Fibro Day all.

Tyno, I really hope you can rest now. Spend Fibro Awareness Day on the couch if you can. Diane

FYI-I think that May 12th is also National Lupus Awareness Day, too. Anyway, I'm gonna make sure that I wear my ribbon and I can't wait to educate people when they ask me why I'm wearing it. :-)

I have it on my calendar so I don't forget. I got my ribbon a few weeks ago, and I am going to wear it on Tuesday. I don't know if there are any gatherings around my area or not, but I am going to find out. I would love to be at one of those, and be around people who understand what I am going through. The ribbon is a nice reminder that no matter how alone I feel, I know there are people who understand and care. That is a very important thing to me.
All that I'm living for,
All that I'm dying for,
All that I can't ignore alone at night.
All that I'm wanted for,
Although I wanted more.
Lock the last open door, my ghosts are gaining on me.
