After reading about so many of you suffering I decided to share something that helped me. Seeing the Doctor she asked what my pain was like when I told her it was like some one had tipped boiling water down my legs and over other parts of my body. She ASKED what I what I would like for the pain [she is a wonderful Doctor who has Fibro] anyhow after talking for a few minutes I asked about something to replace the valium that didn't work for me she gave me BACLOFEN it is wonderful it took about 2 weeks to kick in but now I only take Endep at night no other medications and I was taking 14 tablets a day at various times. So it has made a big difference and i am losing weight now with out extra dieting or exercise. SO for me it was the answer I have several friends in the States on another web site who are tking the same medication we started about the same time and we have all got bout the same results. It waas trial and error to see what dosage works mine had to go up but it works. Taking morphine based taablets slow down your medtabolism down when I went off them all I lost over 60lbs in a few weeks and I HAVE NEVER GONE BACK ON THEM. My Doctor knows I DO NOT WANT TO BE ADDICTED AGAIN, so she warns me about that these tablets are so I only take them on days when I need too.
I know this is not the place to push any type of thing like this but the relief is wonderful I could not do anything before and now I look forward to every day. I am careful not to stress or overdu things but my energy level is returning and I am looking forward to doing things, my husband is happy because I am willing to do things with him now before it was imposible to leave the house now I do not think about how much pain going out is going to cost me

I'm glad you are getting relief with this.  I know some have tried this and it didn't work for them.  So, like everything with fibro, what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another.

Baclofen is a muscle relaxer.  Here is information all about it.

Nice to have another weapion in the arsenal, so to speak.

I haven't tried the Baclofen, but I did find cyclobenzaprine, a different muscle relaxer, helped a lot with my pain. Unfortunately, it also makes me extremely drowsy, so I don't take it very often.
