so..it's official. My medication is not helping at ALL!
I'm on anti-inflammatories, cymbalta, and i even took some advil.. i'm in EXTREME PAIN.

The past 3 days have been really bad with pain...and yesterday was probably the worst.
I got up and got dressed with my knees feeling well like jello and pains all over but i just ignored it..as i'm kind of use to it.
I went to the store to buy a friend some shoes for her birthday...well after standing for about 20 mins..i became extremly flushed and dizzy/hot. I kept feeling sick after when we went to my boyfriends mothers house . I layed down but was still sweating. So i decided to sit up. Next thing i know.. MY FEET WERE BLUE!!

i'm going to guess that it was from my knees being swollen?? so i came back home and slept for about 2 hours.. watched the celtics game :( sad they lost.. and they tried to go back to sleep.

i kept waking up on and off all night from pain...and i am up so earl now because the pain in my shoulder/ back/ arms is HORRIBLE!

any ideas as to why its getting worse?!?

Have you tried some vitamins? Magnesium and Complex B might help you out.

Hi Kelly, I dont know enough to guess why things are getting worse right now for you, but I can tell you when my pain gets worse its from one of a few things--or a combination of....
1) medication changes 2) changes in my activity level (i.e. doing way too much or being way too sedentary) as well as not stretching my muscles throughout the day 3) changes in the weather; especially humidity 4) eating a bunch of bad food, particularly junk food with additives/ preservatives and not drinking enough water and of course the BIG one 5) stress. I will pay for weeks if I slip into "bad" behaviors.
It is easier to be mindful of what my body needs now b/c I am home and not working. It was near impossible when I had to run around from work to doctor appointments to picking up my daughter and on and on.
Are you doing alot of self care? Ice? Elevating your legs? Did you call your doctor about the swelling? What have you been diagnosed with so far? How long have you been on Cymbalta?
The pain that is going down your arms/ shoulders might be a pinched nerve from in your neck (common with fibro). Try an ice pack on your neck to calm it down. And do LESS.
Keep writing, you found a good place! Good luck!

They are helping me. This is what I do.

I take 2 ox of cranberry juice and put in 3-4 drops of Grape Seed Extract (I use crandberry blend because it masks the taste of the GSE)

Take a 500 mg magnesium plus Vitamin B-6, and a B-Complex vitamin.

I am also going to pick up some D-Ribose today

Hi Kelly- Don't panic, you are going to be alright. When I stand for any length of time my feet go numb. You did the right thing by getting off them and resting them and the feeling and the coloring will go back to normal. It is the goofiest feeling but it all comes back and just resume what you were doing.

The pain sounds bad, and believe me we can relate. When the fibro first hit I was so sick. I could not do much. If I tried to walk any distance, the pain would go off the charts and I would get sweaty, yet cold to the touch and would have to rest, I felt like fainting also. I do not get that anymore.

Maybe a call to the Dr. to let him know you are not comfortable at all!

Have you had your heart checked lately? Fatigue, dizzy, hot, sweating, arm and shoulder pain, blue feet - it could be cardiac. Talk to your doc. Always get new symptoms checked out to make sure it is fibro.
