As discussed in prior posts.....I guess this is really not JOINT pain but rather pain of the muscles and tindens around the joint.....

My question is - what do you take for it?  I am currently on naproxen daily.  This is a new symptom.  Both wrists and ankles are painful.....with movement.  It feels like when you have a sprain.

I'm use to the aches and pains all through out the body BUT this is new and seems to be sticking around....

any suggestions appreciated!

Did you injure the painful parts of your body anytime in the Past. I have an old ankle injusry from gymnastics, and sometimes my ankle will just flare, and I will be limping for a few days for no reason at all. Also, for us our bodies are hurt alot easier than people withour Fibro. If you just barely hurt that part than it could flare up from the smallest of pains.

Other then that, maybe try to massage your wrists and ankles, it tends to help me soe when I am aching all over.

Hello there.

I was misdiagnosed as having arthritis for 5 years b/c I have so much joint pain.  Unfortunately, for me, I have not found anything to ease the pain.  A hot bath helps the most, but is quit temporary.

Hi Sydney!

And welcome...it's wonderful to meet you. As for the 'joint' pain I'm not really sure how to answer that one. If it was truly a joint issue then that would be one thing but it's a muscle/tendon thing so that would make me think of different types of treatment. It's miserable when the muscles make your joints hurt. BUT...could you possibly have some arthritis going on in there? Just a thought because I have osteoarthritis and my hands, wrists, knees, elbows...OK, most of my joints..lol.. are getting worse with time. I'm in my late 50's so I guess it's not unusual to have joint pain and add the fibro and wham-o!

I guess all of this garble doesn't really help answer your question. Talk to your doc, obviously, but you might consider anything that is helpful to joint pain like warmth on your joints, anti-inflammatory medications might help and keep moving! unless you have joint injury and then rely on the doc for guidance. I just keep moving when I hurt. Occasionally I will take a day and not move much if I'm in horrific pain...and today is one of those days. I was outside yesterday and helped hubby and grandson stack firewood for a couple of hours. I knew it was a dumb idea but it was wonderful to feel useful and work with them. So today...I rest.

I didn't help much but the my heart goes out to you...I DO understand,

Thanks for all of the advice -

Honeybaby - I don't think I have injured anything - BUT you're right it doesn't take much to cause an added pain here and there.....

Spatchie - hot bathes - oh how I love those.....until the UTI comes around - LOL

Chutz - I'm wondering if I have early signs of osteoarthritis. last time I was at the Doc, she glanced at my fingers and mumbled early signs of arthritis. I have a few joints showing the knobby look and are beginning to get tender - ya know, that makes me think.....the finger joints did begin to get sore about the same time as the wrists.....hmmmmmm.
well, chutz, you try to rest today.....I also know if I over do it one day, I will pay for it the next....

HUGS to you all

I had joint pain at the base of my thumb and the wrist.  The little bone at the base of the thumb and inside wrist became red, warm, and it was sticking out...like it was swollen.  I thought I had the start of arthritis.  This went on for about six months and then slowly started getting better.  There is no pain there now and it's been around five years since I had this problem.  I only took ibuprofen with food.
