I know soft drink sodas are not really good for us but I occasionally have a pepsi. I stopped drinking coke when they changed over to high fructose corn syrup. Pepsi contains the same but tastes better.

Caffeine helps to reduce my sleepiness but not enough. It also reduces my pain levels which is why I drink the stuff.

But, Pepsi now produces Pepsi Throwback. It does not contain high fructose corn syrup but instead, has a combo of real cane and beet sugar.

Not only does it taste better but, it gave me energy.

Coke is also producing a sugar instead of HFC. Sugar is safer for consumption and due to consumer pressure the soda companies are trying these products out. However, they claim they will only be sold for a short period of time. I think it is worth a try.

I've never heard of this. Where did you find it?

Also, in my quest to rid myself of my sugar addiction, I discovered that my problem isn't so much with sugar itself, but with High Fructose Corn Syrup. I've had a few things with just regular old sugar or honey in them and have been fine, but the couple of times I ate something that had HFCS in it, I felt all that yucky stuff all over again-kind of shaky and fidgety like I'd had caffeine, followed a few hours later by a terrible, bone crushing fatigue. I say-Down with High Fructose Corn Syrup!!!!! I wish they'd stop putting it in everything!

Yup, HFC causes me to have extreme fatigue. Quite often I fall asleep right after drinking a soda which contains it.

You have to search for it in the super market. I found it at Safeway. Search or call around to different stores.

My sister was just telling me about this soda this morning. I wonder if our small town will have it. I am going to look for it when I go to the store this evening.

Sounds like a great product...I also wonder if my little town and the two grocery stores it has will ever carry it.

I hope you can find the sodas. I drink only 1 in the afternoon after swimming and I actually get my work done during the rest of the day. With an HFC soda, I would come home and take a nap. I will have to make a lot of trips to the supermarket and stock up on the stuff. If I find the Coca cola brand without HFC and artificial sweeteners, I will stock up on that also.

During Passover, Pepsi offers a Kosher cola that contains real sugar. However, it is different from the Pepsi Throwback in that Throwback contains a combination of cane and beet sugar. It still tastes a lot better than HFC.

Donnaeil, be sure to check the expiration date on the sodas you stock up on.  The shelf life is pretty short and I have had sodas really go bad.  Hate to see you waste money.
