Hi,

I'm new to this forum.
I'm 25 and I live in Germany :)
I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia.
My boss is unsympathetic.
My husband is sympathetic, but also frustrated because I can't keep up with him.

Umm ... that's pretty much my story so far.

Hi Jen. Welcome to the group. I went to Germany one time and it is very beautiful there. I cried when I saw the Glockenspiel. Corny, huh! But I never thought I could go, so the whole trip was an amazing experience.

I am glad your husband is sympathetic. It takes a little while for them to figure out what you can and cannot do.
Best,
Sue

Hi Jen and welcome. Are you German or military??? Husbands can have a hard time dealing with fibro til they get to know their new wives. Mine still wants to fix me even though I have had fibro for many years. At least he understands which is more than many do.

Fibro is hard for people that do not have it to understand since there is so many symptoms to it. If you told your boss you had MS or something he would probably be very understanding, people don't know much about fibro and it doesn't get the same reaction from people as well known illnesses. I hope he comes around and does some research to try and understand it.

Read, ask questions and we are here for you.

luv and hugs

Welcome, Jen!

I know what you mean about not being able to keep up with hubby. It drives him crazy to hold back to my speed. Sometimes I push myself to keep up, but sometimes I just let him run ahead--I'll get there eventually. (And yes, occaisionally I make him stay with me because I need his arm to lean on!)

I'm glad you found this forum. You'll learn a lot here. Most importantly you'll learn you're not alone.

Marlee ... I'm American, but I work in Germany :)

lol ...

We took a vacation and went "hiking" ... which means I walked down the trail slowly while he clambered all over the rocks like a kid :D

As far as my boss is concerned ... he's not the compassionate type. He just thinks that anyone who won't snap to at the drop of a hat is lazy. I wish for once he could feel what it's like to have to drag yourself out of bed in the morning ... and that sometimes it takes all my energy just to be at work.

As soon as I get too fed up with my boss, I plan to quit and devote my time to being a housewife .... I'll be able to set my own hours thataway lol.
