Can someone out there tell what it takes for a doctor to find out for sure you do have fibro?

Hi Sonia and welcome.

I just wanted to give you some quick answers to your question.
First your doctor would need to rule out other things, like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, MS, or other chronic pain conditions.  But my understanding is that to be diagnosed with fibro you must have at least 11 of the 18 common "tender points" (a.k.a. trigger points)
The specialist who would normally make the diagnosis is a Rheumatologist.
I hope you find some answers, and some relief, soon.  You've found a great place to get the encouragement and support you need.  I know it will be very helpful to you.

crazy thank you for posting that website. I was diagnoised in December of 08 by a back and pain management doctor. It helped that he listened to all my symptoms and when he touched the tender points about my neck I screamed.
