HI,
To the ladies of the site i guess............
I was wondering if there was many of you who had dificulty trying to concieve, i'm over a year ttc my first and have had all the tests etc and there is no real reason for it not to be happening. My husband checked out fine too.
My fibro was reasonably under control untill i took a drug called clomid to make sure i was ovulating as my hormones were a little low.
All it did was bring on the worst bout of fibro i've had in 7 years. Now that it's nearly out of my system, i'm starting my road to recovery.
We've decided not to do ivf or any other form of treatment as we can't afford it financially and by the looks of my reaction to something as uninvasive as clomid there's no point in going it.
Sometimes i think i'm just not meant to have them, i put it off in my 20's as i didn't feel i could cope with a kid back then, but as i get older and the fibro gets easier to deal with i think i can.

Anyway, just looking for any info from anyone that can help.
Also, I'm in ireland, so lots of things are limited, even a fibro diagnosis is sooooooooo not accepted here.

I didn't have any problems conceiving my children Boo but just wanted to wish you luck. I have heard of women giving up on having children and that is when they conceive. I know a woman that started adoption process after many years of not conceiving and got pregnant, she has two daughters about the same age one adopted and one biological.

luv and hugs

Hi Boo and welcome to the forum, sorry to hear of your difficulties conceiving. I myself havent had that problem (havent been trying either) but my first real bout of fibro came on at the same time I had my first horrible bout of endometrioisis. Many other women on this site seem to have painful periods as well and there does seem to be a connection between FM and estrogen type issues (and not just b/c more women then men get it).
Hope you get the answers you are looking for,

I had my left ovary removed due to endometriosis. My doc put me on a drug to put my body into menopause for a year, to slow downmy endo. After that I couldn't get pregnant. I took Clomid also. I went thru the whole dog & pony show to try again. Finally, after this horrid test ( I don't remember the name), I found out the tube to my right ovary was blocked. I could not afford the surgery to switch the tubes and my husband didn't want to adopt(I found out a 6 mos after he had a girlfriend, what a prick), so I gave up.

I remarried and my husband had a six yr old daughter, and a 10 yr old son. He offered the surgery to me to fix me up, even tho he had already been snipped, he was willing to undo it. It was a longshot anyway, I was 38 he was 42. I started menopause at age 39, and then I needed a hysterectomy(from endo). I am still on hrt today, and perfectly happy with our 2 kids, now 18 & 23.

Sorry for rambling on about me. It is so refreshing to be able to rant on & on to people who actually know what I'm talking about.

I'm very understanding of your situation Boo, don't be too hard on yourself. You are not alone.

hi
thank you for your replies.
Noklu, thanks for sharing, i know that what is meant to be will be. A part of me believes that if i am meant to have kids i will and if i don't thaen it's not the end of it either.
I have 4 nephews, 2 of which are practically my own and a godchild i helped rear to age four and still see nearly everyday. so i count my blessings that i at least have that.
It just gets me down some days ans i think if i relax it'll all be ok, as afterall, the tests i had were ok, it's only a hormone problem i have. Ovaries etc are fine.
Thanks again for listening.
