Do any of you have problems with getting bruises on your hands just by using them? If so, do you know what causes this? Is there a vitamin that I need?

Yesterday, I picked up the kitchen shears and just placed them in position for use and my ring finger got a big bruise on the knuckle when I bent it. I was washing dishes and on the other hand, when I bent my hand, the area where it joins my wrist got a small bruise that looks like a broken blood vessel. I also bent another finger and on the underside, at the joint, it felt like the vein popped and has a small bruise.

I go through phases of this and they are really sore, but they go away in a day or two.

Any ideas? I mentioned it to my dr. in passing one time and he did not seem too concerned, but that was one bruise not like yesterday where I got 3 almost at the same time.

I had to stop taking aspirin and ibuprofen because I was bruising so badly.  But it was everywhere not just my hands.  Are you taking these?  I would check to see the side effects of any meds or supplements that you are taking.

I get bruises on my hands all the time, hitting them on things, using them, sometimes I just wake up and my palms are bruised, looking like maybe I had been finger painting in my sleep LOL I've mentioned it to my dr, who blew it off as "Sometimes ppl hurt their hands, they heal" OMG like no way!!! I never would have known, but what's causing it, what can I do to help prevent it and how do I function after it's happened, I still don't know and if he knows he doesn't seem to be in a sharing mood. My husband suspects it's the tendons in my hands and fingers taking a beating, I don't know honestly. All I do is take some Advil and Tylenol or if I'm lucky or unlucky, a tramadol and ice my hand. While WebMD.com had nothing specifically about bruised palms or hands, I did find some info on wrongdiagnosis.com
http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/symptoms/palm_bruise/common.htm

I haven't read too much into it yet, but maybe it can help shed some light on this aggrivating and painful occurance.

I get bruises on my arms between my elbow and hand. If I bump that area or my dog scratches me they appear...it is kinda of embrassing.

I look like a dalmation.  I have bruises all over, it's so embarrassing.  My bruising is because I don't have enough Platelets in my blood. I'm also on blood thinning meds.  Have you had your blood tested recently?

I am confused why are you on a blood thinner when your ptatelets count is low. Couldn't you bleed to death?

I bruise easily, but this is different. What I was asking about is more like a broken blood vessel in my fingers on on my palm that just happens from bending the joints.
I can pick up something or turn on the faucet and where my finger touches, it is an instant bruise that swells and it is a broken blood vessel. (it doesn't happen a lot, but I was wondering at the cause and possible vitamin mineral def. that might cause it)

Sorry for the confusion. My grandbaby is here for only 2 more weeks and I am getting in all the kisses I can. He will be gone and I might not see him for another year. They live in Germany.
