I just took some sleeping pills so I have to make this quick. I feel your pain. I have a flax seed bag that I can put in the freezer for cold and pop it in the microwave for heat. If you haven't tried it please do. I actually fell asleep with an icepack on once.

Ed, honestly....if you want any chance of sleeping and feeling better because of the rest, you need to stop the caffeine!  I know I mentioned this before but thought I would, again.  I won't bug you about it.  After all, it is your body!

I have had a sleeping problem ever since I was born, My mother use to tell me stories of times when I was 2 and 3 years that I would stay up and play with my toys all night long and then in the morning I would run around the house with endless energy.
and she said that I was taken to the doctor many time for this and they had no idea why then when I was 8 they said I was hyper and it would go away well it never did, coffee or no coffee I cant sleep, I have been married 9 times and I could never sleep with my wife because I was up and down all night, I have been to so many doctors in my life you would not believe it and Ive taken so many pills I bet I have spent 1 million dollars on perscription pill in the last 45 years, I could go on and on about this for hours and I have been married so many times that everyone of my ex-wives would tell you, He's a great guy but he will keep you up all night long.
But thank you for carring the way you do.

Ed, have you tried a rubber hammer?  turn    That is a problem.  You know, I had a neighbor who only needed 3 hours of sleep a night.  She would go to bed at 3 AM and be up at 6 AM and led a fully life all day long!  I wish I could do that.  Just think of all you could get done.

For you, it's bad because of the pain.  Be sure to check out the malic acid/magnesium supplement info in Fibro 101 and do have your vitamin D levels checked.  These things helped me with pain and fatigue.  Also, try the stretching exercises on Fibro 101.  They are done sitting down and they really do help!

hi, i accidently posted that,

You must be really having a hard time of it. One of the things that help me is a hot bath with epsom salts, magnesium salts really.
Have you been checked for a sleeping abnormality as an adult. If it has been going on that long it could be a chemical imbalance in your brain. My sister is bipolar(NOT saying you are) and has to take meds to regulate all that stuff or she could be up for a week at a time and end up in hospital.
I do hope you feel better and get some relief both sleeping and with the pain. Take care.

Thanks for all the replies, It is true one time I did not sleep for 10 days I watched tv, read, but had no interest to do anything, after the 4th day I started feeling tired and I told my boss and he said Hmmmmmmmm. I took 2 days off tried to sleep and could not I went to my doctor he told me to take an extra Ambian and tylonal pm and an extra Paxil then on the 11 day I slept 2 hours and woke up because of a nightmare, went back to sleep and woke up an hour later and I was soaked in sweat and washed myself off and watch TV and at 5am went to work and the cycle stopped I went back to the 2 to 4 hours sleep stage, This has happend several times in my life but I havent found anyone that can tell me why now that Im 60 I dont care any more I just live with it.

But I thank all of you for you thoughts and well wishes.
Have a great day I wont be back online for a few hours I need to work on my ship model and go pick my wife up. By for now
Ed
