i dont reach out much to others... i live a life of hybernation for the heat here makes me alot sicker then it is worth going out in... i dont socialise so i thought i would try this... had some bad things happen on message boards and in chats so i shyed away for years... i just think i am getting sick of being alone with hardly a soul to understand...

i do live with my son who lives in chronic pain too so i have a good pal there... but he is over burdened and i need help... i hope this works out...

i guess i am just lost right now... trying to find myself... so i found you insted...

I also have constant pain. But I am not nearly as far along in my Fibro as others. I have heard on here that Cymbalta has some nasty side effects for some people and not for others.

Hi Angel and welcome to the family. You will love this forum it is full of loving caring people that treats everyone with respect. I'm sorry you have so many health problems going on and in such pain. I have not tried any of the meds you are on so I don't have any experience there but I'm sure you will here from those that have. Between bad reactions to so many meds and medphobia I try to live with taking as few as possible.

Heat is great for fibro pain in any form baths, showers, hot tubs, heating pads, bed buddies and you can make your own bed buddy by putting uncooked rice in a long tube sock and tieing the end shut and putting it in the microwave for a few minutes. Even dry heat from a little heater helps my muscles. Lidocaine patches for surface pain. I use a TENS unit to interrupt the pain signals to the brain when nothing else works. We have to keep moving and stretching our muscles or the pain is even worse, I know some days this may be hard to do but just a few minutes of stretching does help. Some have had great results with malic acid/magnesium combo. Many of us have low vit D which adds to the pain and fatigue, so if you haven't had it checked you need to have it checked. Some also have low vit B12.

Read the fibro 101 thread, second on first page, it contains lots of great info and also has stretching exercises to do. Read and ask questions and we will be here to help you.

luv and hugs

I see that Marlee directed you to the Fibro 101 thread.  There is a lot of good info in there about fibromyalgia, including a list of gentle stretching exercises that really do help.

Be sure to read back posts.  There is a world of information in them, too.  And, don't hesitate to ask questions.  We are here to help you.  I'm so glad you are here and I hope to hear more from you soon!
