Hi all
Just wanted to ask another question in regards to our immune system does it lower itself with fibro i seem to be picking up the cold very easily has to go back to docs today again have an awful throat infection and head cold which is making my body even more painful than usual yesterday i could have quiet happily cut my legs of sounds awful but i lay in bed curled in a ball crying like a baby. so now on antibiotics and a decongenstant also started on another tablet as my GP says i have developed IBS which is another symton of fibro i just think to myself how mcuh more can i take if someone shook me i would rattle have actually had to make a list of all my meds and how may and when as im on so many now and my brain just mush so its just a reminder.
I know it wont get any better but can it get any worse.

I'm sorry your so miserable Hunibee. My immune system seems to be quite good and I don't pick up everything that goes around, knock on wood. I fight allergies and sinus problems but I rarely get a cold.
I hope you feel better soon.
luv and hugs

I found it very hard to fight infection a few years ago and it wasn't untill i get my allergies under control that my immune system improved.
I had food allergies/intolerences that also made a huge difference when i cut them out.
Echanachea(probably wrong spelling) is a great herb i rely on and plenty of vitamin C. I know the pains i get when i have a cold/flu are unbearable so hang in there take plenty of fluids and wrap up till it's over, good luvk.

I rarely get sick.  But I do take good care of myself because I do have several immune system problems...but fibro isn't considered an immune problem so it's not one of them.
I try to stick with good foods and I cook them so there are not all the chemical junk in them.  I take multiple vitamins, folic acid, vitamin D3, malic acid/magnesium supplements, and calcium.  These help keep me healthy.  I do light exercises and that helps keep the body strong and in less pain.  I guess what I'm doing works because I rarely get a cold.
I hope you get over your illness quickly and get back on track.

A few years back I had my gallbladder removed and was told my immune system would become low. I take the flu shot each year and every five years the pnemonia shot to prevent from getting really sick.

Hi all
thank you for your replies i can see some of your points and not some i never took a cold before all this and i get the flu jab becau se of my work have always worked in the health care profession and was always in contact with illness and colds and flus so thats why i found it hard when this has hit me the way it has i even has to go back to doc today as i had vomitted for over twelve hours and was not in a pretty state as i had been unbable to take any of my usual meds for pain and spoke to her about immune system she explained its like anything some people can be effectted differently and gave me some tips and things to try so fingers crossed.
