I have really got to stop being so trusting. Someone who used to be a friend of mine was over today. My husband was helping her fix her car. I was back in the bedroom when she came up from down at her car. It turns out, that she stole some of the few pain pills I have left. I didn't notice until about an hour and a half or so after she left that they were gone, because that was when I needed to take some. I am so upset right now. I called her and asked her about it, and she flat out denied it. But, she was the only one in my house, and five of my pills are missing. I count them. It helps me math out how many days left I have. I don't know what to do, except I do know that she is NEVER stepping foot in my house again. I can't call the cops on her because she doesn't live in this county's limits, and she is the only one home with her little girl. I could really just use some encouragement and stuff right now. I am really really upset about all of this. I thought she was my friend, and I thought she had changed since her boyfriend went to jail. But, apparently I was wrong. I really need to stop being so trusting. I never thought that she would do this to me. I feel so...well, with the fibro fog, I can't think of a better word than upset.
'Cause when push comes to shove
you taste what you're made of.
You might bend til you break
'cause it's all you can take.
On your knees you look up
decide you've had enough.
You get mad.
You get strong.
Wipe your hands
shake it off.
Then you stand.

I have had that happen, too. It hurts to know that someone you care about and thought that cared about you would do that. hat just shows that they do not care if you are in pain and that may not be the only thing she has done. You find out who your freinds are. Thaat isn't very encouraging, but I sure wouldn't tell you to forget it and go on. I still get myself into messes by trusting too much, but I only get burned once, well sometimes twice. I hope you can get by without the pain meds, boy thats just wrong.
If you think you can, you can. If you think you can't, you won't.
I may not do things like other people, but I get things done in my own way, in my own time.

If people will steal pills, they have a very big problem themselves.  She could have an addiction.  I don't think these people even think about your pain...they are only thinking about themselves and whatever the reason they want the pills for.  Some people, because of the economy, might be stealing the pills and selling these on the street to get some extra money, too.  It's really terrible.
If you have narcotic pain relief, you should always keep it under lock and key.  You can buy a lock box to keep it in.  They have heavy ones that are fireproof at Walmart.  It would keep children safe too...and you will have your medication when you need it.

Sassy I can be the most naive person in the world sometimes. I had a relative steal xanax from me, never thought about someone stealing pills from me. Didn't have any proof the first time so I actually set her up the second time and she stole them out of my purse along with money, never thought about her stealing money either or it wouldn't have been in there. She ended up doing three years in prison for trying to burn her house down for the ins money for drugs, that's how bad she got. She called me after she went to prison and confessed that she had taken pills from me. Not knowing much about addiction at the time I wish now I would have done more to help her with the problem at the time before she got so desperate that she did what she did. Since I have a phobia about taking meds I can't comprehend people taking them for no reason.
I did explain to my doc what had happend so he wrote another rx. I was older and knew my doc well so he didn't have a problem believing me but since you are younger I hope your doc undertands and gives you more.
If you watch the commercials this is happening more and more all the time and we do need to be more careful where we keep our meds.
luv and hugs
