I especially felt this way after a flare from cow patty picking up days. I wondered if all the other "volunteers" had to go home and go to bed for an hour or two after working.  rolleyes    Sometimes I can say my feet or legs or back or arms or etc. hurt - but then the hurting all over is really odd.   You cannot pinpoint it - you just know you hurt.  It is kind of like the flu, only worse and every body part feels heavy like it is made of lead and everything is an effort.  What do you do, if anything, when this happens?  I try not to take a lot of pain meds.  I have oxycodone, but have not taken any yet.  I am kind of scared of it, but that is another topic.

Hi Sue....I know the pain you are experiencing all too well.  My 9 month old grand daughter was here for over a week with her parents and of course I couldn't keep from picking her up.  I was okay until three days after they left.  I have felt like I have the flu ever since.  It's just an all over hip and leg are the worst.
I know playing with a small child doesn't begin to compare with the cow pattie-thing.  But I am just so depressed because it seems like there is a price to pay for every pleasure.  I don't take narcotics either because I am allergic to most of them so I try to take the edge of with Advil.  It's like trying to put out a raging fire with a glass of water...but it's my only choice!
Feel bettter, my friend, and I will be thinking of you as I sit up all night watching info-mmercials for colon cleansing, the 'do it yourself liposuction kit' and 'how to buy a house for fifty dollars.'  Owie.

Yeah I'm expecting to pretty much feel that way most of next week. You see, I invited some friends to bring their 3-year-old over to swim tomorrow. THEN I realized I had to clean my house first. Of course I put most of it off until today. First of all, I didn't sleep well last night because of various forms of discomfort, so I woke up feeling like I never slept. Plus, the cat had diarrhea this morning. So before I could do anything else I had to run the steam cleaner on his messes upstairs and down. Then vacuum the rest of the house, and clean the kitchen and guest bathroom. Mopping the kitchen floor is the worst. My back is killing me. Which means I'll probably have a headache tomorrow on top of that worse-than-the-flu, all-over, can't-quite-put-my-finger-on-it pain y'all are talking about. I'll probably be able to ignore it for the most part tomorrow because I'll be having fun with my favorite people in the world. But I'm in trouble Monday when it all really kicks in. I still have some laundry to put away - or at least hide. And a few dirty dishes to deal with. {{{yaaawwwwwnnnn}}}

Donna , I wanna try do it myself liposuction!  I know what you mean about being sad because the nice little pleasures can be so painful.  I woke up crying last night because of the pain.  Really worried hubby who thought I was having a bad dream.
Donna cat lady turn   I know some tricks.  unscrew the light bulb in your bathroom then put in a little night light.  Then you don't have to clean it as sparkling cuz the guests cannot see!  Hide your laundry.  close your bedroom door and remember, they are coming to see you, not your house.  If they have a 3 year old, their house prob isn't clean either.

Sue, when I get really bad and start thinking about the Vicodin in my medicine cabinet I just remember that it does get better.  I know I might be a lot better in hours or by the next day.  That helps me.
I have a wooden handpainted sign in my kitchen that says,"If you've come to see me, Welcome!  If you've come to see my house, make an appointment."  I LOVE that sign!  turn

The only person in my family that understands this is my DIL with fibro. When I take one of my grandchildren for a few days it takes me a couple days afterwards to recover so I can't keep the grandchildren back to back. My 12 yr old granddaughter went home last night, today I plan on resting although my house is a disaster so I might try to get some floors done. I have two grandsons left to keep and they live a couple of hrs away so the only way I can do this is to keep the oldest one, almost 13, during the week and the youngest on the weekend when Grandpa is here to help, he is a handful. Then take a couple days to recharge.
Donna, it hurts me to hold my three month old grandson so I don't know what is going to happen when he gets to be nine months old. cry
Sue, I have trumpet vines that are suppose to attract butterflies but the only thing I see is bees, could you bring me some cow patties???
This morning is one of those mornings when I hurt, it's a deep hurt in my back and shoulders that you really can't put your finger on, I don't know if it is cause it is so deep or cause it is so wide spread but I know it is there.
luv and hugs

Sending cow patties in the mail to Marlee, although we were taking out cow patties because the butterflies didn't like them. . . do you see hummingbirds with the trumpet vines? I put up tons of birdfeeders in my yard to help with the spiders and have seen a lot of birds and hummingbirds too who like the lantana and jasmine plants.

I hurt like that alot, drs thought I was crazy telling them I didn't know, it hrts everywhere. I f we are on the subject of hiding , I hid dirty pots and pans in my oven one time when my dil was coming. I wasnt paying attention and she decide she would cook. When she opened the oven something even fell out. she never said a word and picked it all up and put in the sink and washed them. Now along time ago, this same girl talked about my house, I think she finally sees that I cant get it all done. I hate having company anymore.I would like t have cookouts but my thats alot of work.
If you think you can, you can. If you think you can't, you won't.
I may not do things like other people, but I get things done in my own way, in my own time.

Do any of you have days when it feels like someone took a hot baseball  bat to you? I like the arms ripping out of their sockets one. Or how about when someone touches you and it feels like the entire limb is going to disintigrate. I've lived it. I've had times when all I want to do is sit down and blubber (I've given a few times), but unfortunately the alarm  goes off at 4 in the morning and I know I have an 8 hour day ahead of me on the hard concrete floors. I find if I stop then it makes it much much worse. The herbs are helping and I haven't had the base ball bat syndrome in about 2 months.
Before I started on my herbals if I pushed on the thigh muscles at all the pain would put me through the roof. I was experimenting today and I no longer have the pain in the muscles of my thighs anymore. I also tried to put my arms over my head to see how long I could keep them up before the tears flowed. I made it to 2  minutes!! A new world record.
A couple of days ago I had to put license plates on my truck and was able to kneel on asphalt for the first time in years.
Even the people I work with have seen alot of changes. I am actually sleeping better and going into the deep sleep.
One night I counted over 40 times I woke up.
Gonna keep going......only 10 more years before I can retire ( unless they change the age limit again)

If it hurts so bad I go to Urgent Care or ER. ASAP. skull

It's happened they try one pain killer and it doesn't work, then stick me with another one and EUREKA I feel way better. smilewinkgrin icodin is good for moderate pains.

Keep up with your muscle relaxers and anti-inflamatories, they will prevent the bad flare ups. :-)
