Hey everyone,

I am searching for some help with a project a friend and I are doing. We are undertaking the task of writing our own book for fibro. We don't know how long it will take, but it our ultimate goal to actually get it published and spread to help others. There are plenty of books out there about fibro, but most are by doctors who don't quite understand what its like, and we want to do it a bit differently.

The first section of our book is going to be "What is Fibromyalgia, and What Does It Mean To Me?" Now, obviously, we are going to do lots of research to get the technical definitions of fibro, but what we are looking for is what does fibro mean to YOU? If YOU were to write a definition, would what it be?

The second section is going to be a list and description of symptoms of fibro patients. Now sure, we can look up online what doctors say are symptoms, but we want to hear from REAL people what symptoms effect them.

Later on, we are also going to have a personal stories section, where we would have blurbs from people and of course give credit to them if they desire. Please send me a message through my email if you would like to help with that part as well.

But for here, the first two sections that I listed, would anyone be willing to post some things here that would answer those questions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

It is an invisible monster that eats away at me. It is a time stealer, i have no idea where time goes. It means getting up in the morning (reluctantly) and just trying to get through the day so I can try to go back to sleep and do it again tomorrow. It means not getting to do the things you enjoy and letting people down by not being able to make plans because you don't know how you will feel. It means my life will never be what it could have been without it and I will never know what a day without pain would feel like again. (unless thy find a cure in my lifetime.)
If you think you can, you can. If you think you can't, you won't.
I may not do things like other people, but I get things done in my own way, in my own time.

Fibro has stolen my life and left me in pain and a feeling of hopelessness. It means having to never being able to plan ahead and always having to see how much pain I am faced with each day before I can do anything. Fibro means having to tell your grandchildren no because it hurts Grandma too much. It means having your children say sorry Mum we didn't think you could because it would hurt you too much. Fibro means having your sex life disappear because your husband is too afraid he is going to hurt you. Fibro means never being able to go shopping to you drop because you want to drop before you even go shopping.
Just a few things FIBRO means to me. That is not to mention the fob and what it does to our lives.
