Good morning fibromites,

Has anyone tried Emu oil.  Either the pain spray or lotion or even the capsules?

Thanks, turn

There have not been any human studies that show this stuff works.  It's just a way of getting your money, in my estimation.  The FDA even had an article this year about emu oil called "How to Spot Health Fraud."  Here is a link about it.

Emu oil--I guess the animal has to die for this to be collected.  Doesn't help the emu at all.

Emu?  geez...I can't even think of what an emu is...it's The Fog.  So I guess I've never tried it.

An Emu is an..ostrich kind of thing, I think. Erm..or maybe it's a monkey..

Noklu,
I've tried the Emu Oil. The version I tried was Blue Emu.  It worked good on the pain but I reacted to the smell. A lot of them have menthol which I have a problem with. Another good one to try is Topricin. It is a cream and works well. I keep some at work.  For a good back-up try age old DSMO......it's the people version of horse linament. I've used that for years.
Sometimes with the DSMO you get a garlicly smell or taste but after a while it wears off.
    Good Luck

I did try the Blue Emu stuff...it didn't do anything for me, but maybe I didn't use it long enough.  I didn't get any instant relief or sensation like with BenGay or Aspercreme.  :(

k I just looked it up. Emu oil is made from the rendered fat of an emu. When the emu is slaughtered for meat, the fat is made into emu oil. Sometimes it is not processed properly.

Yep, an emu is like an ostrich, only smaller and it is not a monkey.

Thank you, Sue...I'm ashamed to say I thought it was some kind of moose!

Geeez...maybe in my fibro mind of was thinking of elk.  They both begin with an 'e'.
