So one of my biggest complaints is not being able to get comfy at bedtime. I have an especially hard time finding the right pillow, and have spent close to the national debt on pillow purchases over the past couple of years. We now have a pile of pillows on our bed that's so big, when I lay on one side and my hubby lays on the other, we can't see each other for all the pillows in between. My problem is I will go buy a new pillow and it will feel GREAT for a little while, then it will start to bug me and I won't be able to get comfy, so I'll try an older pillow and that will feel just right for a day or two but then that one will start to bug me, too, and on and on and on. It has seriously become musical pillows in my bed every night-which one will work right tonight?!?

I wish I could find THE perfect pillow, but so far I've had no luck. Just wondering if anyone has gone through this-having a pillow feel great for awhile, but then stop feeling right after awhile. Maybe it's just me-I do have some pretty awful neck issues. I just keep hoping and praying that one day the right pillow will come along!!

You play musical pillows and I play musical beds.  I start out on our bed (with eight pillows).  Then the hip and leg start to throb so I move to the couch.  Then to the recliner, then one of the beds in the spare bedroom.  My pillows have to be down or feathers...can't sleep on the foam or poly mixture kind.  Oh crap...I can't sleep period.  That's why I know so much about colonic cleansing and weight loss equipment.

Look on the bright side!  At least you have a good selection to choose from.  devil

Very true, Sherrine. I have all kinds of pillows-soft ones, firm ones, one of those special side sleeper pillows with the bump that's supposed to support your neck but never supports mine right because it's not big enough. I even have one supposedly "fabulous" side sleeper pillow that cost me $50!!

Still can't find the right one that will feel great for the year or two that pillows are supposed to feel great!

*sigh* Some people sing "some day my prince will come". I sing "some day my perfect pillow will come..."

i find thicker down pillows work for me.. also tried the water pillows.. you can put in more or less depending on how you feel that night... and in summer you can put the water sack in the fridge to get cool.. or heat in the microwave in winter to get a little extra warmth and sleepy feel

i am back to a cheap pillow..after my water pillow burst but can't wait till i can save up for another one

Water pillow? I've never heard of these. They sound interesting, especially since they can warmed up! Where do you find them?

I really like my down alternative pillow. It's very mouldable to whatever works at the moment, but no quill pricks!

I have the same problem. Last month I bought what I reffer to as the "Hundred Dollar Pillow". My friends laugh and say I'm crazy for spending that much on a pillow, but If it will let me sleep (even for a little while) it's worth it. Well, I'm sad to say it has stopped working. Last night I woke up with pain in my shoulder and neck.

I guess I better get to work. I need to make some money for a new pillow. yeah

I have been using a memory foam type pillow for the past couple years and just switched back to a couple of soft down pillows which I can shape and mold, plus they are so nice and warm. On my recent vacation I was given nice flat squishy down pillows and fell in love so I decided to get some. I had them while growing up, and had forgotten how comfy they are.

Hmm. I definitely want to check into the water pillow, but I think for now I'm going to get some down pillows and see how that works. I haven't had a lot of luck with the memory foam type, and the other kinds you find in stores either don't hold their fluff very well or they are too stiff. I am SO sick of waking up several times a night with my neck hurting!!!

haven't tried the memory foam.. but had those funky ones that are supposed to keep your neck in line with your spine they only hurt more than did any good.

i love down pillows but always had bad luck with the feathers coming out no matter how much i spent on it..

the water pillows can be pricey just to give you the heads up

I love my memory foam pillow. And it was free - my friend didn't like it and gave it to me. :)
