melissa - I have seen conflicting accounts of when you should know if it is going to work. Anywhere from one week to over a month! Has your dr prescribed it to many patients? If so, you could ask her what she feels the response time is. Wish I could help more - I lasted three weeks on it before side effects made me stop. I do think it gave me more energy, but I didn't feel any difference in the pain levels.

Also, now that I have stopped my pain is worse than before I started! mad I hope it is a short term effect from stopping it quickly.

I hope it gives you pain some relief soon! :-)

Melissa, I am into week five on Savella. It hasn't kicked in for me yet either.

I am taking 50mg 2x daily. I have been lucky that I haven't had any of the bad
side effects. I plan to wait until I am finished with this month's prescription before
I make any decision to quit taking it.

Right now I am flaring so I wonder if the flare would be worse if I wasn't on it.

Hope we get some relief soon !!!!!

A friend just suggested that I get on Savella because a friend of hers is on it and is now nearly pain free. I'm pretty leary of statements like this because Cymbalta was supposed to cure me, and all I got was very depressed on it.....and going off it was horrible.

What do we know about this drug, Savella, so far? Is it like Cymbalta? Does anyone know?

http://savella.com/ is the official savella site. I was on it for 3 wks before it tried to give me a stroke, it didn't help my pain or energy level. I am thankful that not everyone reacts the same way to meds
