Could this be something other than fibro? Lately I have been getting really bad spells where I feel lightheaded and really disoriented...and then this huge wave of fatigue crashes over me. It doesn't feel like fibro, but could it be? Sometimes, when this happens, I feel like I'm not getting enough oxygen. When I had my appendix taken out, I woke up from the anesthesia (sp?) feeling like I couldn't breathe. That's sometimes how I feel. I need some input on this please.

I used to get dizzy, lightheaded adn confused at the beginning of my fibro journey, like I was moving at a different speed than everyone else. I never had fatigue after one of those episodes though. That I get when I am in a situation that I get a surge of adrenaline, lately with my anxiety attacks. It feels like my body wants to shut down, I am soo tired. Let us know how you do, ok?
possible fibro and trigeminal neuralgia

If it continues, get it checked out.  But, it sounds like this could be some anxiety.  You have been through a lot lately and having a wave of anxiety wash over you wouldn't be unusual.  When I suffered from anxiety, that would happen and it was like my arms and legs turned to jelly.

Sassy,

Wondering if you are on any new meds? Just thinking it could be a side effect.

I would call your doc's office and let them know what is going on. It will give you
some peace of mind,,,,and "better safe than sorry."

I do get the huge waves of overwhelming fatigue. And I have experianced the feeling of
can't breathe if I am having anxiety.

Get it checked out, hope it passes quickly

It doesn't feel like anxiety to me. I have suffered with anxiety for a long time, and this just doesn't feel like that. It hits me out of nowhere, even when I am just relaxing. I'm not on any really new medications. The latest meds I have been on for two weeks, and they are only Prilosec and Zantac.
I guess I will call the doctor and talk with one of the nurses. Maybe they can give me some insight. I have never felt like this before. I mean, with the fibro, I get confusion and fatigue, but not like this. It's kind of starting to worry me. Especially since I take care of my son on my own with the hubby working now.
If anyone has any more thoughts on this, I would really appreciate them. Thanks.

Just talked to the doctor's office. I was told by a nurse that my doctor said that I should rest and make sure that I get enough to eat. Also, not to hyperventillate when I feel like I can't get enough oxygen. I was told that if I started to sweat or have chest pains or anything that I should call them back. All in all, it wasn't that helpful. But, at least I tried. I wish I could lie down...I need to sleep. Can't, though. My son isn't napping at the moment. It's hard to rest when I have a son to look after...I guess I can just do my best.
