I know I haven't been on here much, my in-home childcare has been keeping me busy. Which is a good thing except I went to Dr the other day for my TB test, it came back fine but I have been having pain in my ring finger on my right hand, inbetween the upper joint and the finger nail, it's been feeling I fractured it, and then my thumb on the same hand started hurting around the joint of the hand, he told me that I have old folks Arthitis (SP).
It is really hard to pick up the babies and to change their diapers. But this to shall pass.
Ok with the aches I have from Fibro and my degerented Disc in my hips and now this. I went to Dr on Sunday to get the shot for TB and my blood pressure was 108/67 I was on my Tromadol, when I went Tues to have the TB results it was 142/69 no Troadol. I was in pain. I think I'll keep taking pain meds.
Dr on Tuesday put me on Neprixion for the swelling and Predisone for I guess the same thing.
Can someone tell me please what is Old Folks Arthitis?
Hope all is well with everyone else.

It probably is osteoarthritis...or fibro.  I have some popping in my joints from fibro and also I had very bad pain in my right thumb, to the point I could barely hold a pen to write.  I was practicing how to write with my left hand.

I had to have special tools to help me open jars and I couldn't even open my front door because it has a thumb latch.  You know what I did?  Nothing!  Now it's absolutely g-o-n-e!  This kind of thing has happened to me sooo many times over the years I've had fibro.  I know the doctor thinks I'm crazy.

For example, every summer I not only get a three month long flare but I also get pain in my feet.  Two years ago it was my left foot ball joint at the big toe.  Last year it was my second and third toes on my right foot.  This summer it's my left heel.  I don't even mention it because I know it will go away.  My cousin has fibro too and I mentioned this foot pain in the summer bit and, believe it or not, it happens to her too!  LOL  So, don't stress over this.  It could very well get better on it's own.  Just baby it as much as possible.

Hi Roni glad you popped in to visit us but sorry you have old people's arthritis. I don't know why the doc called it that cause you don't have to be that old to get it. I have it in my back from an old injury, my neck, and my hands, those are the areas that have been confirmed. My hands are the worse since there is no getting around using them all the time. Some of my fingers are beginning to get crooked from it. On my right hand the joint between thumb and wrist is comepletly gone and I have a lump of calcification there. I find lidoderm patches cut in half and put on my hand the best thing for the pain when I'm going to be using my hand a lot. I got cortizone shots in that area for several years but it didn't help that much. Actually it may have done more harm to the surrounding tissue than good.
My tummy will not tolerate any of the meds that are on the market for osteo arthritis and I can't take aspirin so I do the best I can.
luv and hugs

Thank yo both so much.

I do come on once in awhile just to see how everyone is.

I know a Dr told me awhile back that I have Osteoarthritis in my lower back from the Disc Diease.

Mitch has been doing so much to help me. I don't know what I"ll do though if it gets to where I can't use my hands, I need them for this career. I know that I have to stay working to help pay the house payment. So I guess this is just one more pain that I have to get used to. Oh the fun of all this.

Hi everyone. I guess I'm going to wine today. I haven't had this much pain in a long time. sad My shoulders, neck, back, hands and buttocks. They are just aching like a toothache. I don't know what i did to set it off. I only had pain in the shoulders yesterday. But today everything just wanted to ache!! Oh well, I guess i will just have to deal with it till it decides to go back where it came from :-) Ok, I feel better now. I just needed to get that off my chest. Thanks for listening. Laura tongue

I'm so foggy I didn't realize you were gone missing.... Glad to see you back and sorry about the arthritis. Doing the same thing here. Love, love , LOVE my celebrex! It's a life saver for me. Not for everyone but check with your doc. Might help.
