what a day it's been im ready to throw in the towel,i have had MS for 9 years now and have  continued to work with great difficulty because i know it's sometimes impossible to get SSD.

these past couple of month's have been just terrible, in june i just had to sing up for SSD as my sight and alot of other things were just getting to where working was becomming a big problem.i was still working part time mind you at walmart as a cashier and have been for the past year.

last month on the 15th of august while at work i had a stroke while i was ringing up customers,i called for management twice and nobody came i even worked 20 minutes over my time and when they sent someone to me i went and told management that the whole left side of my body went numb.i was told if i couldn't drive to get somebody to come and get me.

i was so mad i drove home,a 15 minute drive took me an hour. when i walked through the door my husband saw me and rushed me right to the hospitol and they admitted me,after doing alot of testing they told me i had a stroke. i was in the hospitol for a week and while there they did more testing and i was told i have FM and had had it for some time.

while i have been out of work i have heard nothing from them, not even a call to say hey how are you.today i tried to call the district manager and was told i had to talk to the store manager first but i have since been in there and he won't even talk to me. so now that i have called his boss he has tried to call me twice today, i don't want to talk to him im so mad.

i got a letter from SSD telling me that they are working with my doctors and taking alot of consideration with everything and i should here something soon  whether im approved or not.

if not i will get a lawyer, but i hope it doesn't have to go that far.sometimes life seems so unfair and i refuse to let meself get stressed about any of this, hopefully it will work itself out.

Your poor thing. When it rains it pours. I feel for you and what you are having to go through. I hope you get your SSD, also ask them about anything else to suppliment your SSD.?

HARA - hope you get what you need and give your hubby a big hug that doesn't hurt you too much.

I'll be praying that you get it.  The fact that you have vision problems and MS and fibro and have had a stroke, these all work in your favor for getting disability.  I have a severe hearing loss, Crohn's, fibro, and diabetes and was able to get disability without a lawyer.  Please let us know if you hear anything.

thank you both so much for responding to my post, the only thing i want in life is to be happy and i try to always have a positive attitude and outlook on everything but sometimes like today really get to me.
I have already retired from on job in my life but im to young to get the retirement yet as i have to be atleast 55 and im only 48.i worked for Giant Food (a big grocery chain on the east coast)
since i have been 15 with working papers and i retired in 2007, the company got sold and people with 30 years and more were asked to retire and they bought us out.
then i went to work for Walmart and i really liked it but the stress was just to much to deal with and the stress with my son and his wife im surprised i didn't have a stroke before this.
at the end of the month im going to be moving to Delaware, where i hope to have less stress and be able to enjoy life as that is where alot of my family is.

I hope things get better for you and you are able to get disability soon! I also have been holding off on filing because we cannot make it without the extra income. I'm very lucky in that I can pretty well make my own hours & on really bad days I answer work calls from home. (I work for a Tree Service as Secretary/Bookkeeper) I know the day is coming where I will not be able to put it off any longer, but for now I keep on keeping on!

You have been through so much & I would be very angry at Walmart too! I think they are probably more worried about themselves & if this will cost them instead of how one of their employees is doing. I don't think I would talk to them either at this point!

I hope moving will help with your stress and health. It makes a big difference when you are worried or unhappy all of the time. We recently sold our home of 20 years and actually bought a double wide mobile home and I love it! No more taxes & big utility bills to worry about, everything is on 1 floor and easier for me to keep up with on cleaning. I still have a small backyard for my flowers and birds, so I am happy! I didn't mean to go into a long story of my life, but wanted you to know that moving and changing our lifestyle has really helped my emotionally & even physically.

Good luck with everything and I hope all will get better soon!

                                                                                      Hugs!
