My doctor can't decide if I have fibromyalgia or if it is from all my other medical condtions.  How long did it take for you all to be dxed?  Did other things come up first?

I went through a battery of tests before I was diagnosed. And then it seems I keep finding new things to go along with it. Just hang in there. I know it is frustrating not knowing what is going on, but, eventually, you will get an answer. Good luck to you.

From when I began asking questions and scheduling visits to multiple docs, it took roughly 18 months for an official Dx of FM. Before that I was Dx with MCTD, [mixed connective tissue disorder]. My official DX came from a brusque and ill-mannered rheumy who told me that MCTD did NOT exist, and he would never ever entertain the notion of anything Rx for pain relief. I never saw him again. I can not tell you how many docs I saw, but reality is that my story is everyone's story. Hang in there, do a lot of reading, don't let others set your response to this health challenge, and keep an open mind while being protective of every breath. Good luck and never stop trying to unravel the kinks in your health. You will be stronger because you believed in yourself.
Peace!
