Hi, everyone!

I've been typing with one hand since I joined the forum because my left arm was in a sling. Saw the doctor today and got clearance to start using my arm again, so hallelujah, here I am!!!

I promised to introduce myself properly when I could type again, so here goes. I'm 56, female, live in New York City with my husband, no kids but two wonderful nieces. I was dx'd with fibro in 2003 and went out on full disability shortly after that. I am completely disabled and unable to work, cook, clean, shop, etc. Fortunately, my husband has always done the cooking and shopping, so I am blessed!

I also have bad migraines. For almost two years I was getting severe migraines on average 5 or 6 days a week. The cause was menopause hormone swings and they have recently eased up, thank god.

As I've mentioned, I also have IBS and that was really bad even before the fibro hit. It's now almost fully controlled, again, thank god.

I had been looking for a fibro forum for awhile, and finally found this one. It seems like a great place, and now that I can type again, I'm looking forward to participating even more!

Hey beanley, Glad to hear you are sling-free! I think you have done an excellent job
posting using only one hand. I bet it feels great to be two handed again.

This is a great forum. I always look forward to reading everyones posts. It is great that
you will be participating even more!

Aren't you glad the migraines eased up? Mine have gotten so much better too, Going through menopause was migraine hell.

I look forward to reading more of your posts

Hello, and a formal welcome from me :)
Like Robin said, you have done wonderfully typing one handed; it's a skill I also acquired when I was on a Mommy forum and breast feeding. I still am a two fingered typist, but pretty fast ;) I'm 40, mom to 2 boys 6 & 10, and 2 girls 2 & 5. I had fibro symptoms after my 1st C-section with my oldest dd. All my symptoms left when I got pregnant again, then came back shortly after my 2nd C-section with my youngest. I have been fortunate to get help fairly quickly and find this forum for coping tips. My NP says fibro, my rheumy is undecided, lol.

I'm sorry that you are going through so much pain. But it sounds like you have a wonderfully supporting dh, this helps so much. And I'm happy you found us, as this truly is a very caring community. We can all help each other out with encouragement. Looking forward to getting to know you better!
