Well today the exploration of the pain clinic continue. First off and i'm thinking it was Chutz, but the fibro fog is really think and it only comes to mind that one of the wonderful moderators linked me to a pain journal. So willing to take any advice and so much needing to be my own advocate I followed insturctions and started writing. Tentively <ugh to lazy to look up spelling> I tell my doctor what I have found and that i started filling them out on advice it will help. Waiting dreading all of a sudden her face beams, and asks if by chance i had a blank copy. Excitedly she jumps up from the desk telling me how wonderful it is and one of the best she'd seen ever and says oh oh i gotta make copies before i forget!! X-mus came early for her lol. So from me and the doc thank you thank you!!

Well the visit started with hey lets do trigger point injections. O.K. my neck is so stiff i'm looking for that person with the dagger. I fore-go the sedation, lol never again! First shot top of the neck i'm thinking whew no biggie, next point down on my upper back, ugh think i'm gonna toss my cookies. O i know i can do this. Next one every thing starts to go kinda black, think i might pass out. By the 4th and last one just wishing i would pass out finally. As i sit it's numb, well ok just kinda, but the new pain is unbearable. She says in two or three days the steroids will kick in yay!! I've taken them orally for the pain, but oh the sick i feel when i do that. So injecting seemed reasonable. EEWWW ya my poor blood pressure was 148/109 felt like i was dying before we started anyways. Plus had to endure the chidding of just call me as i admit ashamed i'm scared to, i just want this to work. Smiling she tells me it's gonna be ok she'll make it work.

After that we looked at how i was in pain, and decided a long acting narcotic would be best, she gave me choices we narrowed it down to morphine, and lorotab 10. Such a nice day. Sucks my neck is killing me, aahh but thankfully that pain i know will go away.

Just to bad i get to play with the family doctor who's so against me seeing a pain clinic tomorrow. Oh well new day new adventures.

Think I would have been on the floor after the 2nd injection! Hope you're feeling better today. I am very lucky to have a family doctor & Rheumatologist who both treat Fibro and work together on my meds. Hope things went well with your doc!
