New here ... have gleaned a lot of helpful information from postings.
Have a question ... does FM also affect your mouth/tongue to feel fatigued same as legs and arms, etc?  Somedays fine, somedays feels like tongue too big for my mouth (I know, hard to believe ... lol), talking slower.  Most times, once late afternoon, early evening arrives, back to normal.  Weird.  I have a lot of the other symptoms as well.  Been dealing with this now for almost 10 years.
Thanks!

Cassie, welcome to the family. Our wonderful Sherrine is bringing back our 'Fibro 101', which includes a listing of all the wonderful symptoms of this joy we know as Fibro. That should help you to see a lot of the 'weird' things going on in your life/body are part of Fibro. I have had a problem w/ my mouth/tongue for, well, forever. My tongue and jaw get very tired and sore. I can eat a certain food today and no problem, tomorrow I will eat it and have to spit it out, my muscles are so sore I can't chew the food. The tongue muscles hurt. Of course, ppl that don't have this look at you funny when you say it, but this is our reality.

Also my tongue swells, not up, but out towards my teeth, which is why I bite my tongue quite a bit.

Anyway, around here it's not weird, it's normal. Yes, we are special!! wink   You have to have a sense of humor to live w/ this nonsense, and it appears you have a good one. Good for you.

Keep asking ???, the ppl here are so good and helpful, and very kind. Look forward to hearing more from you. Hope you have a good day!!

God bless.  Alice.

Just a thought.

I don't have the  problem you do but have you ever been tested for food sensitivities?  I'm not talking allergies here but food sensitivities.  I went to a NP who tested  for these and found out I was sensitive to something I'd been eating every day and had not really been putting the two together.  Since it is your mouth and tongue that seem to be affected, this might be an answer.

Thank you Alice and Yo-Yo for your support and information.  My tongue (especially) and mouth really only give me grief when I am in a "crash", which is where I find myself "lulling around in" right now.  Alice, my tongue seems to spread out too (hmmm, much like my hips do ... lol) and I bite it often ... which really irks me, geez!

Again, thank you.  I truly appreciate your help.

Cassie

I can relate to biting my tongue or the sides of my mouth.

Could it be TMJ?

Or dry mouth? I have that really bad from the Elavil (amitriptyline) that I take.
fibro, migraines, ibs
