Hi Mouseygirl and welcome to the forum. If you haven't already make sure you check out
fibro 101 on the first page. It is full of great information.

Glad you have joined the forum! There are lot people here who understand what it is like
to live with the chronic pain of fibromyalgia. Everyone here is caring and supportive.

Sorry you are flaring. Right now there are alot of us, myself included who are flaring. It has
been raining for days, so I am blaming my flare on the weather. Coping with a flare,
especially a lingering one isn't always easy. I have been taking long leisurely soaks in a hot
bath, doing gentle stretching and using my heating pad. I normally walk daily but because
of the rain and the pain I haven't walked that much. Pacing yourself is very important.

My rheumy has prescribed Savella 50mg 2x daily and when I am flaring I also take Flexeril.
a muscle relaxer.

Hope your flare ends soon!

Hi mousygirl!

And welcome to the family!! By now you are probably an expert on fibro but not by choice. Living with it day to day sometimes seems impossible but with friends, like the people on the forum, we learn to not only survive but to lead a wonderful life. No, it's not the same as it was, but it's still a rich and good time.

I see you have joined in on the daily Koffee Klatch. Wonderful way to meet people. It's also one tiny spot in our day when we not only enjoy some fun and laughter but it's a chance to almost feel normal for a short while....why? Because the 'P' word (pain) is banned...lol Yes, some times we get silly and kid around but deep down we care about each other and will be there whenever someone is at their lowest. We will hang on until you can get back on your feet again and by letting us help you are then strong enough to hold on to the next person who is having a rough time. It's how families work. ;-)

Come join our Chat Night on Thursdays. I'll post about it Thursday morning and also list instructions for those who are new to chats. The times are 6 PM Pacific, 9 PM Eastern USA.

Hope you can join us.

Hi Mousygirl,

welcome to the forum! I am glad you found this place. I have only been on here for a few months, but it has really helped change my life. The people here are incredible. Not only will you find great support, but knowledge as well. I don't think there is single thing that at least one of us hasn't been through, and everyone is willing to share. I look forward to reading your posts.

Hi Mousygirl. I welcomed you in another thread but welcome again. We are family here, I call everyone my Fingertip family. It's strange how you can become so close to people you have never met face to face. It's like we fight fibro together.

Robin, the fibro 101 isn't back up yet, hehehe. I know the flare has gotten to you. devil

We do try to have a good time on here too, God only knows we have to or we would lose what little minds we have left.

I'm glad you joined us.

luv and hugs

Hi, Mouseygirl, and welcome!  You have come to a great place.  We have wonderful members that love to help one another and, as a bonus, we really do care about each other, too!  Just ask your questions and you will get some help.

Well, Fibro 101 is now up at the top of the first page...the first post on the forum.  There are links to good information about fibromyalgia and you can learn a lot there.  I see you have had fibro for several years.  I've had it 22 years and some of this info was new to me when I found it!

When having really bad days I'll find things to do to help me focus on things other than how I feel.  I also find that coming to the forum and helping others really helps me too.  Also, knowing that the bad day will pass and there are better days ahead helps me.  Keeping a positive attitude and moving forward helps the day pass more quickly.

I am so glad that you found us and have joined in.  Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you.  I hope to hear more from you soon.
