I have been on these two drugs for 3yrs. Never had a problem. All of a sudden, my psychiatrist thinks I shouldn't be on the two at the same time because it can cause breathing problems at night.

I looked up some things on the net, and it looks like some doctors have no problem with it as long as the prescription is followed exactly (which I do). Other doctors have a real problem with it. I will be talking with my internist about it on the 19th.

Are any of you on these two drugs at the same time? What have your doctors said? I really need both - one for anxiety and the other for pain.

Yes, but for short periods. The use of any CNS depressants can impact one's ability to breathe. Long term use worsens the risk. Currently I am on a milder Pain med and Clonazapam. I am going to ask for lorazapam at my next appt. as (get this) my hair is falling out). Anyone ever hear of clonazapam making you hair fall out?.

Sorry about your hair Tyno!!!

MyJoy, my doc will only allow me to take one vicodin a day, I have never taken a full one, cause I am on 3 mg of xanax a day. Alcohol and opiates intensify the affects of meds like xananx and clonazapan. If I take vicodin it is early in the day cause I take 1 1/2 mg of xanax to sleep.

luv and hugs

My doc allows me one vicodin a day as well. I don't take them every day though.....so, I wonder why my psych is concerned. Thanks for your responses.
