I am new to all of the fibromyalgia thing.  My family dr thinks I have it, a neurologist is doing tests to eliminate other stuff.
Anyway, I am so fatigued that I can hardly function, and my body hurts so bad especailly on the sides of me legs.

What can I do?  I've tried cymbalta and savella and they made me more messed up.   My family dr said I could try lyrica but I have heard that there are so many side effects like sleepiness.  I'm sleepy already.

I am going to have a massage tomorrow and am seeing a Chiropractor.  I don't know what else to do.

Any suggestions are great!

Thanks,
Jazzmynn

Lyrica didn't work for me. I felt drunk and unable to function.

I just started to take a new prescription vitamin called Req 49+. And so far, I love it. I don't get as sleepy and I don't hurt nearly as bad.

Good luck!

Jazzmyn, sounds like you have a full blown flare going on, they are painful. Sorry you
are hurting. Have you tried soaking in a hot bath?It helps alleviate some of the pain. I
take a muscle relaxer Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) when I am flaring. it does make you
tired; but if you take it before bed it helps you get a better night's sleep.

Don't stop exercising, do some gentle stretching, you don't want to become anymore
stiff or achy than you already are. Use a heating pad or bedbuddy, heat is a fibromite's
friend. Flares are painful but luckily they don't last forever. I feel your pain, I just got
over a long flare myself and I know how they hurt.

Hope your massage helps. Call your doctor and let him know you are flaring.

Sending you gentle hugs

Robin

Hi there,

Yes it does sound like you are in a flare.  And as Robin said, 'heat' is our friend.  The bed buddies work really well for the neck and shoulder area.  When I get pain in my shoulders, it makes me tense and that makes me hurt worse.  So it is a viscous cycle.  If I use the bed buddy, I feel so much better.  Or standing under a warm shower helps.

The fatigue bothers me more than the pain does.  I can not function when I am that tired.  The fibrofog sets in and I am a goner(sp).  I am good for nothing but sleep.

I hope that you feel better soon.  Keep posting, as we are all here for you.

Hugs, Karen
