I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. My whole body hurts like I have overexercised - but I certainly haven't! I work full time, have a long commute to work, but after that I am exhausted. The past couple of weeks the fibro pain has been worse and worse. I do light stretching, warm baths, but to no relief. My neck is so stiff it hurts to even touch it sometimes. Massage does help though.
Would appreciated any suggestions.
Thanks!

Hi hope4,

I am guessing that with the change of weather your fibro is feeling it more. The
change of temperature affects many of us, making us feel more stiff and achy.

You mention you have a long commute to work. Sitting in the same position for an
extended time will make you stiff. Can you go for a walk on your breaks or lunchtime
or maybe after work. I know I tend to hurt more on the days that I don't get a walk
in.

When I am flaring I do take a muscle relaxer, Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine), but only when
I know I won't be driving. Flexeril makes me tired but does a good job of relaxing
aching muscles. It takes the edge off.

Hope you find some relief soon!

Hugs

Robin

One thing that I have found that really helps my fibro pain is Vitamin D. I started it at 1000 units and bumped it up to 2000 units, and even the weather changes don't affect me as much as they used to. Give it a shot, maybe it might help you like it helped me. Here's an article I read that helped me to try Vitamin D. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I will try extra D.

I haven't taken flexeril in a long while - I will ask my dr. to give me a prescription again. I remember it helped when I was really achy.

I often feel that way when I wake up in the morning. My neck is the worse. It may be the long drive. Maybe some gentle stretches when you get home will help loosen you muscles.

That's how I explain fibro to Normals, I tell them to imagine working out at a gym for a couple days straight and that is the way my muscles feel and I don't have to do anything to feel that way. I don't get the benifits of having a great looking body either. smilewinkgrin

Yes Hope4 I take Flexeril 10 mg 3 x a day and tramadol for my muscle stiffness/pain neck included. Can you use a heat wrap on your commute or at work?

Thanks everyone!
I saw my dr. today and he increased Lyrica to 100mg. I hope that it helps.
I know what you mean about not getting the great looking body - the way I feel I should having been running and lifting weights!

Hi Hope4,

I've felt like that on a regular basis since day 1 of Fibro. Often, I feel like I am right in the middle of the 80th rep of lifting a weight....
