I live on the NC Coast and getting the second day of rain from Tropical Storm Ida.  One more day to go says weatherman.  I have Fibro and some other things that are really affected by weather conditions ie...rain, cold, barametric pressure, and hot humid days.
How do you all deal with the weather fluctuations in your area?  Even staying in the house does not seem to help somehow the weather don't know how makes its way thru the walls right to my body.  How is that possible?
Thanks All!
Rhonda

Rhonda, I live in a very hot dry climate.  We get little rain but when there are clouds over the mountains near us I get migraines.  When we have wind/dust storms I get sick.  I think it has to be the barometric pressure.  I take fioricet when I feel the headaches starting.

Interesting Puppylover about the headaches.  I have the start of one right now.  I suffer with Migraine.  I take topamax going to increase dosage soon.  Also take Azor for HBP plus it helps with migraine pain (calcium blocker).  Have been thinking of buying some Excederine Migraine but the firoricet sounds similiar may ask for a scrip.  Thanks for the advice.

It is funny how rain, pain, and migraines all rhyme. Just thinking.

I do believe that it is the barometric pressure too. We have had nice days, but bad weather coming and I can really feel it today.

I hope that you feel better soon.

Hugs, Karen

Thanks Rhonda,

I hope that you have a good day too. I am going to work on my holiday wreaths that I do for the local animal shelter to sell to make money for the animals. I have a day off of work so I have pleanty time to work with the wreaths and swags. But hope to not over do it. But once I get going, I can't stop. I am sure that you know how that goes. Then we over do it and we are in pain. But it is worth it to me.

We are having sunshine today. I live in Michigan. It has been a warm November so far. But October was the coldest in years. I am not looking forward to winter here. I am working for the first time in seven years and don't know if I can handle it. But my boss is so nice and said if I can't, she would give me a leave of absence until spring.

Take care my friend, have a good one. Keep on keeping on. We are all one big family and support eachother. I love this forum.

Hugs, Karen

Rhonda, I live in Florida so I get a lot of rain here, too.  I will get pressure, like sinus, behind my eyes and, of course, I hurt like the dickens.  With Ida, everyone around here has a backache....even those without fibro!

How do I handle it?  I take over the counter pain relievers and know that this too shall pass.  I just get busy doing things that don't cause me more pain and, pretty soon, the sun come out again!

Hope you are doing better.

Hi Rhonda,

I've had a flare going on since mid-August. The neck and back are the worst at this point. Our summer and fall have been strange, well, actually the whole yr has been nuts - weatherwise, too!

Saturday was lovely, Sunday was just perfect, my DH and I went over to the ocean to walk on the boardwalk. Had a great day, so calm I had my hair down and it never blew around. We walked up and down, listened to some amateur musicians (very good ones!) and just savored the joy of a beautiful day in November. My DH woke up that night going very low sugar (T 1 Diabetes). After addressing that we went back to bed, he slept and I did not. I was so stressed, that by morning I was in the throws of a nasty migraine, in addition to the neck and back pain. It is very damp, chilly, rainy - not a nice day at all. I have been in such pain, head to toe. My heels hurt, my hair hurts. Can't pin it up, don't want it down and in my way. shakehead

This yr the weather has been on the cool side, rainy, dreary. My body does react to that, BIG TIME. I'm not on any rx pain meds, I take Tylenol. Most times it doesn't even touch the pain.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

God bless.  Alice.

OOPs So clumbsy was almost done with reply hit something and the whole page disappeared I must be a magician or something :)

Anyway it is unfortunate that there are others out there that feel the way I do esp on rainy days like today.  But I am glad it is wonderful warm people like yourselves.

That is awesome Karen that you are taking a day off to make wreaths for the doggies.  They would thank you if they could.  I was born and raised in the UP of MI  yah I'm a Yooper eh! Miss those Pasties so much I can taste them! Yummy,,, yeah Hi Sherrine Used to live in Pensacola actually Santa Rosa County for 5 plus years. Remember those summer storms and esp hurrican season but we get a bit of that here on NC Coast.  I am less than 1 mile from ocean.  But loved those white sandy beaches in that area and cannot beat the Winters.  Hope u feel better soon.

Heh Alice that was a nice description of you and your hubbys walk together.  Isn't it nice to pretend to be a "normal" if only for a while.  Went to Busch Gardens Williamsburg back 3 weeks ago had a BLAST but man paid for it dearly maybe still am.

But You know what ladies I would do it again in a heartbeat because we all want to have fun and enjoy ourselves.

Now I may do it a bit different but say it and yeah I'm in...

Take care all and will talking to you again soon I hope!

Rhonda :)

I am very sensitive to Barometric pressure changes. And I live in Arkansas where we have 4 very distinct seasons, and it is not uncommon to have 40 degree fluctuations daily.

Little Rock, was the 3rd worse city for migraine sufferers. I believe it is barometric pressure and farm chemicals.

I haven't found a way to prevent or deal, but it is noticeable to everyone and myself the affects the weather has on me.

Hi Marlee

Doing a little better today most of the storm left our area and moved up the coast toward Va/MD.  My hubby also brought me home an electric throw which was on sale at CVS.  Someone else on the board suggested it.  I used to have a couple but they got old and never replaced them.

I hope u feel better and the sun shines again.  Love nice sunny days.

Rhonda xxx

Update Still having back pain and fibro flare  thought I had some relief yesterday from back pain but did not last long.  One good thing is my hubby came home with an electric throw for me.  So I am grateful for my loving hubby and my warm electric throw.
You all have a Happy Friday the 13th!
Rhonda :-)

Thank u merfy and I hope the rain had stopped in Ga for you as well.  I have a bit of relief from the rain stopping but still in considerable pain.  Go to back pain specialist on Friday to see about another series of floroscopic steroid injections.  As for the Fibro well just waiting for the flare to end maybe when the back settles down.

Have a good pain free day!
