I was diagnosed just this morning with Fibromyalgia. Finally after all I've been through, my doctor will start treating this and maybe I won't have to suffer so much anymore! She prescribed Neurontin 300mg, once a day, then titrating up to 3x daily. Also, Lortab 5/500 for BT pain. I hope that this diagnosis will help me to get the help I need. Before today, I couldn't get any help with my symptoms, all the doctor would say is "No diagnosis, no meds!" Now I can do more research and be more proactive with my care and treatment!

Have a great day everyone!

Tammy, Getting your diagnosis is a great first step to start a treatment plan. I am glad
your appointment went well. Hoping the med combo that your doctor prescribed works well
for you. We all tolerate meds differantly and sometimes it is trial and error before we find
what works for us. I am sure you feel relief to finally have a diagnosis, waiting is so very
frustrating.

Good luck to you Tammy and keep us posted!

Hugs

Tammy-
You might want to take that large a dose at bedtime. I find that much puts me to sleep after about an hour. It's actually a small dose considering that some patients take up to 1200mg a day, but that would leave me comatose.

I am prescribed 100mg 3xday, but am starting out with only 1 pill at bedtime. That's enough for a sensitive person. This is one of those drugs you can build up. I may add another pill next week.

One major side effect: it can make arthritis hurt a lot worse. I don't know if this effect goes away. I'm still in awful pain when I get up in the morning. Bad enough to take something like tramadol or vicodin.

Thanks for the comments! I am hoping that my doctor and I can find a good combination of meds that can hopefully work for me! I know it's usually trial and error, but my doctor is a smart one and she's also a young doctor who has alot of education in newer science. I trust her alot really. She was very attentive today and really listened to me. I know she probably thought I was a nutcase because I thanked her so many times for being so helpful! LOL

Alcie,

Thanks for the heads up on the Neurontin side effects. That way it won't be as much of a surprise should I start feeling that way myself!

Take care you guys!
Bless you!
