Hi everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

We(Jayson and I)are having the holiday over at the club house at my mom's senior building as both are apartments are too small to hold everyone.  It will be my daughter,Barbarann and her husband and 4 kids and my mom of course and my brother Randy.  I was surprised by having Randy there as he usauly spends Thanksgiving with his family but this year his wife said "why dont you spend it with your mom?" she wants to spend it with just her family??????? I though when you were married your husband IS your family?  But I am thrilled to have him there as he seems to get everyone talking lol.  I am not looking forward to the food however.  Seems for the past few months I have lost my taste for most anything dang it and I want it back!!!!  It all tastes like cardboard.  Do any of you have problems with this???  Anyway it will still be a fun time to be with all the kids there, and ppl I love.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

My family and I (That includes my husband) are going to my husbands grandmas house. The food is always great. I know what you mean about losing your taste for food. I go through periods where I can't bring my self to eat. Sometimes it's because of nausea, but sometimes I just don't have a desire for food. I hate that feeling, because I love food. I hope on Thanksgiving day we have a healthy appetite. I can't wait to stuff my self and then fall asleep on a big comfy recliner.

I'm having the family at my house.  I have my daughter, my cousin and her husband and her son, my nephew, his wife and two sons, and my cousin's in-laws.  I'm digging out the karaoke machine and it should be a lot of fun!

Both kids and their spouses are coming to our home in MI.....along with daughter's brother in law. Not to mention 3 extra dogs besides our own beagle! (better put dog food on my list!) I'll have daughter and daughter in law to help with the cooking....so it should be a fun time. There will be football and card playing, and shopping on friday. We'll see how long I hold up.

Hi Karen, good to see you posting!!

We are having dinner at home, just my DH, 3 children, my 'puppy', and me. Since I'm cooking, it will be food I can tolerate, but that doesn't guarantee that come dinner time I will be able to eat it. I do have a problem w/ nausea. But we will be together, so I will just deal w/ it.

Hope you and your family have a lovely day together. Enjoy!!

God bless.  Alice.

My hubby and I cannot be back to WI to celebrate Thanksgiving with family this year, so
we are hosting Thanksgiving dinner at our home for friends who won't be with their families.

We live in a close knit neighborhood where our neighbors are wonderful friends and are like
family. We all help one another. I am cooking a big turkey and friends will be bringing the
side dishes. I know we will have fun!

Hugs

Working...Nursing home people don't get days off. Last year was the first one in 10 years I got off and that
was only because of knee surgery. Double time and a half; the only time I get almost normal pay.

Hi All
Since I have not been feeling well Fibro flare and major back problems my loving hubby said he would do all the cooking for Thanksgiving.  So great to be able to sit and relax on a Thanksgiving day.
We will have my hubby's brother and his wife over  plus his neice and her boyfriend.
Plus me and our 18 yr old son.
It should be nice and can't wait for the yummy home cooked meal.
Karen I too have been having some problems with taste since Friday when the Back Pain Doc started me on percocets.
Anyhoo Everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Well geez,1st my brother is coming and then he is not and now its on again, due to my sil not making up her mind. Gotta make pies on wed and Jayson will cut the veggies for the stuffing and get that all done. We are making a 20+pound turkey. The bigger to better as far as Jay is concerned lol. And Barbarann will be making I'm sure a stupendous cake as she has takin up cake decorating. She makes the most life like creations. For Laurens(who is 8)b-day,she is way into zombies lol so Barb made her this cake of a zombie girl coming out of the ground omg it was so coollllllllllllllllllll!!! so for Thanskgiving it will be a 2 tiered cake thats a pumpkin with squirrles chasing blowing fall leaves and mice playing together. Anyways lol I due tend to run on!!! I am just just so thankful to still be hear and to be able to visit with you all and be with my family. Still no word on my surgery and yes, I have wrote my congressman and filed something saying I dont agree with the states decison to not let me have brain surgery cause they just dont cover it. What so Im supposed to just die or be incapasitaited ???What?? OK now Im going to stop, breathe...... lol tis the season!!!!

Since my husband's father died 9 years ago, we have always had Thanksgiving at our house.  We never wanted "grandma Ruth" to have to worry about where she was going to be at this holiday.  Grandma makes the turkey, my husband loves to make the mash potatoes, I do pies, green beans, brussel sprouts and sweet pototoes.  It is a tag-team effort and everyone is invited.  Sometimes it is just Grandma, Hubby, kids and me and sometimes we have 25 plus.

We eat later, around 5 ish.  I make the pies a day ahead.  I do the veggie just before we sit down.  My boys and I have the tradition that we go see a movie around noon that day.  We have done this for years.  about now they are saying, "what are we gonna go see on Thanksgiving?"  It almost doesn't matter what your traditions are.  Just make sure you make those memories.
