Happy Wednesday to all~~

Before we get to today's topic I want to tell you that I will be gone until Monday. But the Koffee Klatch will go on as usual...sort of. While I'm gone Vestabula will be doing the daily topics! I can hardly wait til I can see her topics and the answers. So don't miss her Koffee Klatches!

And for today, what are your plans for Thanksgiving, Thursday? If you are in Canada you already celebrated your Thanksgiving so tell us what you did? And how WAS that 2nd piece of pie???

We are breaking with tradition and are taking a break from the house, kids and grandkids. Every month or so hubby and I need to have some peace and quiet and that isn't how life is here at home. I've never gone away for Thanksgiving, especially since it's my favorite holiday. But circumstances are such that it was the right decision. Everyone else in the family made alternated plans for this year so ...it will be different, anyway. Hubby and I bought a small turkey and will cook it in the 5th wheel trailer. I've never made Thanksgiving for just 2 people. How ever will we make it through that pie all by ourselves???... turn

Every year I say, "I'm not having Thanksgiving at my house next year", but the fibro fog must have something to do with it cause I'm having it here again. I will have a house full that will eat and have a good time and then go home to their nice clean houses while I spend a week trying to get mine back in order while mumbling, "I'm not doing this again next year". smilewinkgrin
I really do enjoy having my family here but I'm the one with the least energy and something seems wrong with this picture. Can you tell that I'm just plain wore out this morning??? tongue

Chutz, please enjoy your break by the ocean.  I love the sounds at the beach.  I love to hear the shore birds and listen to the waves.  I hope you find comfort in that as well.  You are in my prayrers for a stress-free, low pain vacation.  Have lots of cuddle time with your hubby.

I'm Canadian, so I already had Thanksgiving. This year was a little strange, as it was just the 6 of us. My sister and her fiancee coudln't come (they were going to France a few weeks later to visit his family... she is so lucky! but that is another story, lol). My MIL went out west to visit her brother. After my FIL passed away, her brother bought her plane tickets. The change of scenery did her a world of good. This was the first time in years that we weren't with my IL's. We went hiking, but it was sooo cold this year. I forced the kids to dress up and had turkey dinner.

Enjoy your time away Chutz! There was one year that dh and I both had to work, so we sent the baby to my IL's. I wasn't going to have a dinner, but changed my mind at the last minute. I made it a little fancier, and bought 2 Cornish hens for dh and I and stuffed those. We ended up having a great time! I was used to cooking for 2 back then. Can't say that I would remember how to anymore ;)

This year I am going over my BF's brother and wife's house for their first Thanksgiving after moving to our town. That will be at 1pm. They have an 18-month-old who adores my BF, and a five-month-old who will be sleeping through the afternoon, so should be pretty stress-free. Then I'm going to drop off my BF at home and head over to a sister's house for another whole dinner! how lucky am I?? I already have my new Tupperware to bring home all kinds of leftovers!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

This year there will just be four of us at the table..but we're planning on having a festival Thanksgiving. Trying a couple of new vegetable recipes that I think will be good. Tried my hand at making my own cranberry sauce...gingered cranberries...and have to say it is delish! Made it yesterday so it could marinate well. Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! Jhemi
