I tried taking Melatonin to help me sleep. i am sad to report it didnot work sad   The first night I took it i was very restless. I was up most of the night tossing and turning. The second night was pretty much the same. The day after the second night I was so spaced out. I had to return to work after the long Holiday weekend and was barely able to funtion. I threw the rest of the bottle away. I guess this wasn't the right sleep aid for me. Has anyone had any good experiences with sleep supplements? I am still in search of a good nights sleep.

I have good results with tylenol PM. The tylenol helps with my pain and the "benedryl" part helps me fall asleep. I also have good results with a bowl of rammen noodles or bowl of cereal before bed. The carbs really put me under. Wish I could be more helpful.

I take ambien and it works well for me, but I never had a problem of sleeping, just of getting a restful sleep. If I am out of ambien, I take the melatonin and it works well. Maybe you should give it another try. Oh you can't, you threw it away. Sorry that you aren't sleeping well.

Have you ever tried meditation? I also do that. It slows the mind down and relaxes you. Maybe you should give that a shot.

Either way I hope that you find something that helps you. And the tylenol pm does work too.

Best wishes,

Hugs, karen

I forgot, I have used somthing called "sleepytime tea", it has valarien in it which is a natural valium.  That might be another thing that you would want to try.  Hope that this helps some.

Treebo,
I tried the melatonin too and it didn't work. The True Calm before bed seems to help. I use it with Nite Time Herbs.
Both are by NOW products and herbal.

I've tried the Melatonin as well, I would eventually fall asleep, and then wake up about every 2 hrs. My mother takes Doxxcilamine Succinate which is also what they're using in alot of night time cold meds. It's in the Equate Wal-Mart brand of sleep aids here. For me it leaves me hung over and groggy the next day, sleeping the following day as well, even before I got sick. My adopted mother takes them as well, but breaks them in half for her. Still too much for me. LOL I've heard The True Calm works and am thinking of getting some.
Good luck :)
