Every year, we make a resolution, or more than one. A lot of the time, we don't keep them. So, what's your New Year's Resolution?

My New Year's resolution is to lose 20lbs. I weigh about 142 lbs. I have belly flab and love handles. This is the first time in my entire life that I have had that, and I hate it. I really do HATE it. So, I am going to stop eating so many Hawaiian sweet rolls. I love them. They are just soooo delicious. But, I am going to cut back on them. I plan on going on the diet that my mom is on. She looks amazing. She weighs less than I do, which depresses me, but I am happy for her. So, I plan to go on the same diet that she is on. Wish me luck.

Good luck to you, Sassy!  I hope to lose some more weight also.  Another thing I plan on doing is going through the house and getting the stuff I never use and putting it in the garage.  In April or May my development has a development garage sale.  I have an electric fry pan, an electric ice cream maker, grills, griddles, rotessiere, etc. that I haven't used since I moved down here.  They just take up a lot of space so out they go!

I have always been a chronic worrier and I suffer from insomnia. This New Year I will be
focusing on accepting uncertainty of my health issues.

On the outside, I try to maintain a strong positive front, but in reality there are so many
times I feel very weak emotionally. I need to learn that it is OK to rely on others for
emotional support. You may be hearing more vents from me in the future.

I will continue to exercise, do my relaxation therapy and try to live in a healthy way.

Wishing my Fibro family a Very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year!

Hugs, Robin

Good luck to you Sassy!

I plan on going back to eating better in the New Year, and getting back to exercising. I've been trying to get back into a routine since middle of November, but who has the time right now? I'd love to lose another 18 lbs. This would still be up 10 from my pre-pregnancy weight of #2, but I think it's an achievable figure. If more comes off, great, but I'm trying to be realistic, I'm no spring chicken anymore! lol

I also want to finish some projects I have been working on... Dd's garden mural and finish her decorations. Refinish my other dd's dresser and bookshelf (the bookshelf I want to paint as a castle tower, to match her princess room and the murals I painted in her room). I also have a fairy tale book started for her that I am illustrating in photoshop. Start journalling. So many things to organize, the office, my kitchen, recipes, crafts....

Ugh! I think I'm in for a fall. I hope I can count on you all to help keep me motivated :)

Robin, you are always one of the first to give encouragement and support to others. Your words have often warmed my heart. Please, we are here for you too; you can let go when you need to. We will always have a sympathetic ear.

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas too, adn Happy New Year! Just in case I don't get a chance to come back on until then. ((((Gentle Hugs))))

I really don't have a resolutions as of yet, I haven't really thought about it.  But it is time to start thinking, so I am happy that this thread was started.

Mamanan, I didn't realize that you painted, I do too.  In fact I am thinking about painting again soon.  I use acrylics, I started a bear, but never finished it, that was two years ago.  I think...

But your mural sounds beautiful.  I use to paint murals on the walls of an old cabin that I lived in years ago.  I painted a cougar on my refridgerator once.  It looked like he was climbing down a mountain.  It was cool.  When I get the urge, if I don't have a canvas, I am likely to paint on anything.

Maybe that can be my resolution, paint more.  I also wood burn and make jewelry.

I hope that you all have a joyous holiday season.

I have two myself. One is to lose weight, (which we all know is hard with fibro) and the other is to feel better, at least emotionally. To try not to worry so much. And ok, actually I guess I have 3. My other one is to try and take care of myself better!

Karen, maybe we could encourage each other! Your fridge sounds awesome :) But to say I paint is an overstatement. I dabble, only enough to do something in kids' rooms! And I find it so frightening to start that first stroke on a blank wall, lol. You should start thinking of a project to do over the winter, to keep you busy, especially if you will have to take a leave of absence from work.

Sue, I think you have the right idea, especially the first 2!

Mamanan,

I think encouraging eachother is a good idea.  I have so many unfinished paintings.  Some I would like to paint white and start over.  But your murals sound beautiful.  I like the theme too.  And making a book case into a castle is an awesome idea.

I am on the computer way too much, and think it is time to start painting again.  The only thing is I paint most when I am depressed, and I haven't been depressed, so I have to make it a project.  Something fun.  Maybe paint some flowers, but my favorite things to paint are wolves.  And other animals.  I use a lot of black, so that wouldn't be good on the walls.  But good on a canvas.  Black has always been one of my favorite colors, I like the way that it makes other colors stand out more.

I hope that you are having a great day.

Take care, stay painfree and energetic.  We all hope for that.

Great thread.

Mine would be to find some way (and energy and time) to exercise so that I would not feel so stiff.

I would love suggestions and support.
Hope

Great posts from everyone.
Hope, I walk every morning, I think that helps me keep moving. Also gentle yoga is good.

I like what Robin said "On the outside, I try to maintain a strong positive front, but in reality there are so many times I feel very weak emotionally. I need to learn that it is OK to rely on others for emotional support. You may be hearing more vents from me in the future."

I do the same thing with friends and family, put on a happy face, and not talk about what is really going on for me on the inside. So maybe mine would also be to reach out when I need help.
Thanks everyone.

Something I learned about myself many years ago was not to make promises to myself I won't keep. I just end up feeling like a failure. So I am not knocking anyone else's positive attitude at all but my resolution every year now is to not make any. I resolve to not make any New Years resolutions. I finally succeed at a resolution. Took me a few decades to figure that one out.

I just bought myself a really nice veggie and fruit juicer, and my resolution is to use it each and every day at least once.

I plan to continue losing weight in the new year.  I have already lost 1 1 pounds and plan to continue onward.

I also plan to do more sewing in the new year.  My pain has kept me from it so far, but darn it, I plan to beat the pain and get to doing what I love best, to sew.

Thanks for letting me share.

Believe in yourself.  Be kind to fellow humans and animals.  Take time to smell the flowers and the coffee.
And by all means, when you are down, ask me for help.  I will be there.

Another resolution I have is to do the painting for my grandma that I have been wanting to do for months. I want to do a painting of a picture of my son and give it to her. I paint, but I am not the best when it comes to drawing. I have to figure out how to put a picture of Alex onto the canvas. And then, of course, there is the decision as to how I want to pain it. Do I want to do is with lots of colors and make it a bold picture? Or do I just want to paint it as real-life as I can? It's going to be a long project, but I really want to do it. I have the canvas, my paints and brushes are around here somewhere. I just need to get started.
I am so thankful to everyone here. There is so much encouragment and understanding here. It really warms my heart. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday, and I wish everyone luck on their resolutions.

My goal is to live more in the moment and less in review of the past and worry about the future.

I want to laugh more, thaw out the creative side, and energize my body and spirit in a positive and productive manner.

PEACE TO US ALL AND ACCEPTANCE IN OUR HEARTS
