I did it again, this morning I got up and went down the stairs, then I walked up about 3 steps then remembered my meds were in the kitchen, I forgot I had already climed a few steps, and thought I was on the main landing again, well...the next thing I know I did a carwheel practically and wound up on the floor again (for those that remember my cartwheel trick from this summer out in my front yard on my way to work which lead to a nasty sprain) it was of course the same ankle that got the majority of my weight from the fall. And once again....confused no one was around and I had to cry for a spell then get myself together to get myself back up stairs to lay down. I put some ice and an ace bandgage on it, layed down for a few hours then came into work. I sure don't want to be here, but my flex time that we get in Oct for the year is already getting used up enough on flair days, so I felt I could try to get in here. But I'm really starting to feel sore now. I can imagine how I will feel by the am. Oh well at least it will be Saturday and I will be off.

Take something like Advil or Aleve if you can. They may help some with the inflammation. Gentle Hugs!

Hi Hopegirl,

I am so sorry that you fell down the stairs.  I hope that you didn't break anything.  Good thing that you have the weekend to recooperate.  I hope that the amount of time is enough for you.

Please let us know how you are doing.

Take care my friend.

I'm sorry to hear you fell down your stairs. I only have 3 going into my mobile home and
I've managed to fall down them twice so far. Both times I've slipped on the ice. The last
time was after my knee surgery and I bent the knee so far I ended up with an immediate
lypoma tumor. Stupid.

If you can get your hands on a magic chillobrater (the machine they give you when you have
ortho knee surgery that runs cold water thru it) it'll help with the swelling and pain. I did
it about 20 mins on and then a hot water bottle.

hopegirl, when I first started reading your post, I thought you did a cartwheel because
you wanted too and that you were super co-ordinated that you could do cartwheels
on stairs. Sorry that you weren't really doing a cartwheel and ended up spraining your
ankle.

Hope the pain and swelling is under control and I hope the next cartwheel you do
is because you are super co-ordinated and choose to do one. smilewinkgrin

I am so sorry to hear that you had another cartwheel incident. I know it must be painful. Ibuprofen or Aleve would help with the inflammation. When you get home, put some more ice on it and just relax. I know it must be hurting a lot. But I congratulate you for going into work anyway. Sometimes we have to push when all we want to do is lie down and not do anything. You have to remember that at least you didn't break anything, and at least you didn't hit your head and end up with a concussion. Sometimes you have to really search for the silver lining in the cloud. I hope you feel better soon. Take it easy over the weekend. Take care. *soft hugs*

Hi All!!!

Just a quick update to let you all know that I'm still a little sore, but that is about it. If I did sprain my ankle it's very slight, nothing like before.
I am thankful that I have a place like this that I can come to and post things and have so many people here that actually know what I'm going thru and care. You guys are the best and I'm thankful for each and every one of you~~

SassyMyKitty...lol I can see how you would of thought that too when reading my post. I sure wish it would of been that instead.
