Ok...so one of the things that I have been having real trouble lately with is nausea. I seem to be nauseous at least 3 or 4 times a day, and those times each vary in length. I have found that peppermint helps some....and I do have a prescription for compazine. However, I feel like I'm always popping one or the other. Does any have any other suggestions of things that might help, or even know of some causes of it?

I used to get it a lot when I was on prescription drugs. I found graham crackers setteled my
stomach. Now I'm off all meds I don't get it anymore.

Oh man I'm on so many meds...that prob could be a big part of it. But unfortunately, I'm seriously unable to get off my meds. I've tried once, it wasn't a good situation at all.

Sarah, I get occasional nausea from my gabapentin and Cymbalta. I hear you about popping pills and mints all the time; I get sick of that too. When I get sick I will usually have a glass of milk, or a cup of peppermint tea to calm my stomach. I also will chew a small piece of raw ginger root, which works like a charm but is an acquired taste. Candied ginger also helps. I also take supplements and make sure to take them with food or a meal, because they will make me totally nauseated if I take them on an empty stomach or with water. I usually take my D3, multivitamin, malic acid/magnesium first thing in the morning with a cup of yogurt, usually a small glass of milk as well, then drink some hot tea and eat toast.

Years ago I took ginseng and had to stop because it made me nauseated when I ate. My doc thought it might have conflicted with other foods or stomach acid. I would make a journal of what you eat; how you feel before and after; how and when you take your meds; and how you feel before and after. Do this for a week or so and you will find some patterns of when you feel nausea.

I will def do that, thank you. I wonder if mine is Ginseng too? That's the newest thing I've started taking, so that actually would make sense. I will def have to look into that. I've thought about stopping it anyways, as it doesn't do much good for me, and its just an added expense. But I will try doing the log....thanks!
