Hello Everyone,
I hope you had a wonderful holiday!  Did you enjoy your day?
I am having a major problem with my left ankle area today.  It must be Fibro, because I didn't injur it and there is no swelling. But, when I walk on it, it feels a lot like a sprain.  I have been limping around all day and it is exhausting.  I can barely put weight on it and it hurts a lot when I do.
Do any of you ever have this problem....and what do you do when this type of symptom flares?  The ankle has been giving me intermittent problems for a couple of weeks now, but today it's like it went into overdrive.
I'm not sure if an ace bandage would help, as it does not hurt to the touch and it doesn't hurt when I am sitting.  It just screams whenever I get up.
If you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate your help.
Thanks!  And, have a wonderful Christmas night.

If I could not walk on my foot because the ankle was in horrible pain and I could not even touch it I would be at the Drs office like Yesterday! You may have something wrong with it and you do not remember how it happened. Please have it checked out.

Now there are times that my feet and ankle bones feel quite weak and I find it difficult to get around but it usually clears up within minutes to a couple hours.  I hope you can find relief very soon.  In the meantime maybe use some heat or cold see what feels best and try to stay off it by using a crutch.

Gentle Hugs

I'll have that with my hips and need to use a cane until it "shakes" out.  I have to take ibuprofen for it to start feeling better.

I have the same problem as you, FunnyGirl. It usually hits me when I wake up in the morning, or when I have been sitting or lying on the couch for a period of time. It usually goes away within about 30 minutes. I agree that you should speak to your doctor about this. With fibro, we often forget things. I will get bruises all the time and not know how I got them. You could have injured yourself and you just don't remember it. It happens. I would prop us your ankle and try cold and heat and see if either of those help. If you think that an ace bandage might help, it wouldn't hurt you to try it. I hope you feel better soon. Let us know if you talk to your doctor about it and what you find out. Take care. *soft hugs*

Thanks everyone. I appreciate your responses.

I KNOW I didn't injur it. It does seem to be getting better. I'm limping a little, but I can get around now. It's very strange. It is now intermittent too. It will hurt, then feel like nothing's wrong, then hurt again.

Maybe it's similar to Sherrine's hips?

I have to go to the doctor today for a possible ear infection anyway, so I'll have them look at my ankle.

Thanks again. I hope you all had a nice Christmas!

Hope your ankle shakes up for you soon. Fibro is so frustrating! I had problems on and off with my right ankle. I'd be fine, then all of a sudden when I stood up, or sometimes even just walking along, I'd have such a severe pain that it would make me cry out and my leg would collapse. Thankfully mine would shake out after a few steps tops. I can't imagine it goign on with every step. Hope it continues to feel better! Good luck on the ear infection too :(
