Actually got my disability

Finally after one application and three appeals (the 3rd being the final one) Manulife accepted my disability claim and will be forwarding me a cheque. I was off work full-time for 3 months and half-time for over a year before getting some treatment that worked for me. I've been back full-time since April of 2009 and now our national church uses a different insurance carrier, so my file will be closed with Manulife and they will not have to deal with me again.

Chalk one up to the victim over the huge lawyer-ridden corporate conglomerate! Woo hoo!

(They messed with the wrong person if they thought I would just walk away from what was rightly and justly mine!)

They owe me about $15,000. I can exhale now before we have to pay for our daughter's upcoming wedding!


I hope everyone here is keeping well and making some progress. I finally got to my appointment at the Vancouver Pain Clinic - after waiting about 18 months. It was really good. They upped my Lyrica again and let me know that I could take another Tramadol after 12 hours on days when the pain is too intense. That was very helpful.

Amitriptylene 10 mg
Tramadol 150mg time-released 1X/day

That's great news. I have recently applied for it myself after waffling in my decision to apply or not. I was working 25hrs/week and was missing more work than attending, which made the decision easier for me.

Congratulations!  It can be a battle sometimes but it's worth it if you need it.  I have disability and it's been a godsend for me.

50 mgs amitriptyline daily, T3s for facial pain (really not appropriate med) and now tramacet

I am so happy to hear that you are finally going to get the money you deserve. I know this was a long trial for you, so I am happy it is finally all worked out. Don't spend it all in one place. LOL.
