I wish I could find a pattern, or some explanation for why some days are so much worse than others.  Monday was GREAT (I rested all the holiday weekend) (My assistant left at 10:30 because she was sick) Tuesday was ok ... a little stiff in the morning, but def not unmanageable.  It was a REALLY hectic day at work though ... 19 4-year olds and my assistant called in sick.  ugh.  Yesterday I was pretty sore, but the 3 advil I popped in the morning seemed to get me through the day, and I went to bed at 7:00PM last night.  Today I can hardly MOVE.  Good LORD .. it hurts so bad I can't do my hair, could hardly reach up in the cupboard for the coffee tin, just want to hide in a warm bath or back in bed with the electric blanket ...  I took advil this morning and it didn't put a dent in my pain or stiffness this morning.  yikes.

I have got to go to work.  HAVE TO.  Today I should only have 18 in the class, and hopefully my assistant will be back.  I also requested some parent volunteer help in the classroom and today is the first day that a mom will be there to help out.  (YAY!!  SO THANKFUL!!!)

You know, when you pick slip on shoes, elastic waist pants and a pull over shirt to wear to work because you can't manage the laces, zippers and buttons ... it's a bad FM day.  I have got to get to a doctor  PDQ.  Maybe next week ...

Good morning Do over,

I wish I myself could figure this same thing out . there is no rime or reason to this.. Like last night when I went to shower... one toe was red and hurt like crazy.. mind you I had not worn any shoes this day at all. and it was like if I wore a pair of shoes to tight and rubbing on that one toe. but no . no shoes yesterday .. so go figure..
some days if the stressors are worse I know the next day or even just a few hours later I am going to be in a bad hurt. as stress does compute to pain with my body..

sounds like you where left holding the ball at work. more for you to do being short handed , and then the added stress , I am happy you finally have a volunteer Mom that should help. and then if your assistant is in today should help.
I hope today is a much better day. . Big Soft Fibro Hugs dear.

yes ... it's definitely been a stressful week. i have tried to 'mind over matter' a bit and be cheerful and optimistic ... but it's getting the best of me this morning.

i get 'phantom pain' too ... like your toe ... when i get a REAL specific pain for no explainable specific reason. and i think "Did I HURT myself, like bump into something, and FORGET it?!?" (I certainly forget lots these days!)

Hope your toe is better today. Heck, I hope we're all better all OVER today! :) (No hurt in wishing, huh?)

i hope i don't look like an idiot in front of this mom today .. i'm so sore and tired, I can't even think straight.

Morning Hon,
ya those pains like that , do make me wonder if I ran into something and forgot about it, like you . that would be normal. its always something with this Fibro ,
my memory is getting so bad. specially short term.. you can tell me something real important and 10 min later I could not tell you what it was. .. my poor daughter is having to write down her schedule for me , so if I start wondering why she is not home yet . I can just look and see .. Oh ya that's right LOL.. I tell ya..
and yes we can always hope for pain free days. and Fog free for that mater.
hang in there hon ... its Thursday . work week is almost over with ...
I will be sending warm thoughts your way .
I'm sure you will be fine with this Mom.
post later if you can and let me know how it went today ok.?
Soft Huggles.

It's riddle within a riddle, isn't it?  Yesterday I only took one dose of Advil and thought the flare was over, as the pain has been insignifcant for almost two weeks.  This morning I could hardly hobble to the cabinet fast enough to chug down three.  Can't think of a single thing I did out of the ordinary yesterday to cause this.  Even my ear lobes hurt.

That's fibro for ya!

Hi do-over, Hope your day improves and that you feel alot better. I'm glad you will have some
help and that your day goes quickly.

Fibro isn't very consistent is it? Always keeps you guessing. I slept till 10:00 this morning(11 hrs)
couldn't believe it. Sitting with my bed buddy and heating pad trying to loosen up to do some
stretching and get my day started. Fibro has a mind of it's own and I just keep butting heads
with it.

I'm sorry all of you are having such a bad time.  I am too.  I really think it's this freezing weather we are having.  It was 26 degrees in the Tampa Bay area this morning....and we are considered to be in the Tropics!  When I'm cold, my muscles really tense up and that doesn't help fibro one bit.  I hope this passes soon and we all start to feel better.

There's no rhyme or reason.

But, luckily, there ARE drugs.

Go see the doc ASAP. You are worth it, and you need it. It's time to put yourself first!

Maybe it is the phase of the moon, the weather, your horoscope, maybe you slept too much or too little....who knows why somedays are worse than others. All we can do is hope and pray they end soon when we have bad days.

Hope everyone will have better days tomorrow.

luv and hugs

today was so bad at work i wanted to walk away and never return. the fact that i could hardly move didn't help. but even if i had felt fine, i would have had a crappy day. i am at the end of my rope and just yelled at my daughter for nothing significant ... which makes me feel awful. she's just little and i'm just grumpy!

so ... i asked her to watch tv for 5 minutes while i give myself a 'timeout' .. gonna go hide in the bathroom by myself, have a good cry, dry my eyes, go hug my baby and apologize to her, pour myself a glass of wine, and make supper before going to a parent council meeting from 6-7. maybe if i smell like booze at the council meeting i'll get kicked off! LOL!!!!!!

here's another laugh ... it's "W" week at my daughter's school. she is supposed to take something that starts with "W" for show and tell. the only thing she could think of was "whitey tighties" and I caught her while she was raiding her dad's underwear drawer. luckily, i stopped her! how funny. and potentially embarrassing! LOL!!!!!! (We ended up using a White Washrag instead. whew!) ha ha ha ha ha ha

i can't get a dr's appointment until 1/21. seriously. ugh.

tomorrow will be better. i got a new bottle of tylenol today. woohoo!!! (party like a rock star!)

good insight! you're right. i haven't had this much trouble in years .. and i can count on spending most of my weekends in bed! the problem is that i have to work late and then attend a birthday supper for my mom tonight, class from 8-2 all saturday, then my middle son is playing with the COLLEGE band (he's only 12!) at 2:30 on saturday (can't miss THAT), and then church on Sunday (my kids only get to go every other weekend, so it's important to me) and then supposed to visit my best friend for supper on Sunday .. she lives 1.3 hours away. and my husband is working out of town all weekend.

when i was a full time mom, life was so much easier ... less painful ... happy. now that i have a demanding full time job, i hurt every day. haven't had a really bad flare in so long, i was denying the diagnosis.

i'm stuck. and sore. and don't see a way out ... :(

I'm realizing how much sleep affects me too. (well, the lack of it ...)

I wake up several times a night ... WIDE AWAKE. Have tried all the tricks ... nothing works. I just wake up with my head swimming. If I have to go to work, I'm afraid to go back to sleep, worried that I'll oversleep. And usually I am so tired at night, I go to bed at 7 or 8, and then have things to do the next morning ... so have to get up early anyway.

On the weekends, if I wake up, I can go back to sleep later in the morning ... or take a nap in the day ... and that helps so much. During the week ... no naps, no back to sleep, no more than 4 hours of sleep in a row EVER.

I read somewhere (I have read so much!) that sleep is a problem for FM folks ... going to mention it to my doctor on the 21st.

basically, i think i am allergic to work. ha

happy Friday ... finally the weekend is here .
sleep is a real issue ... we don't seem to hit the dream state that we need to .
I know I have lots of sleep issues.. but I also have sever sleep apnea and use a c-pac .. except during the night when I wake is so much pain I have to find somewhere else to sleep besides the bed.. normally the couch on top of my body pillow.
Sounds like you have a lot planed for the weekend... remember to stop and take care of you ok. ? please .
I am lucky and my couple of friends understand my Fibro so we don't really make plans ahead of time , We do like to get together on weekends. to let the puppies play. but thank goodness my friends will curl up on the couch with me . if I am real bad that day they will send me off to bed. LOL..
so your son is playing with the collage band . did I hear that right ? so exciting
Your children sound wonderful
take care my dear. Huggles.
