Hello all.  I have been having a few unusual pings and pains in this extremely cold weather we have been experiencing.  My shoulder blades don't usually bother me but my right shoulder blade and right upper arm have been achy for the past couple of days.  Wondering  if I might start getting pain here now.  Anyone have shoulder blade pain?????  Soft hugs.

oh yes! one of my worst "knots" is under my right shoulder blade. it BURNS. often makes my whole arm kinda tingly when I'm really flared up. then works it's way up my neck.

so sorry it's bothering you. it makes me crazy(er) sometimes. ;)

my friend who is a chiropracter does this thing where she presses on it ... feel hard but she swears it's not ... for a couple of minutes, then lets go slowly ... it makes me want to wet my pants at first ... but then I can feel it let up a little ...

it's like acuPRESSURE instead of acuPUNCTURE. (the thought of sticking a needle into my skin .. no matter how tiny or therapuetic ... makes me cringe!)

hope you get some relief soon. I heard it's supposed to be a raging heat wave into the 50s next week here.

my shoulders are one of my worst spots. I think that's why they call it the shoulder BLADE .... because of the stabbing pains. :) My physical therapist actually told me my shoulder bones are pinching the muscle/nerve there :(

Shoulders, shoulder blades, and necks usually bother people with fibromyalgia.  The cold weather seems to aggravate it even more!  You are not a lone and I do hope you start to feel better.
A good exercise to stretch the muscles in that area is to bend at the waist so you are facing the floor and then start swinging your arms evey which way.  It sure does feel good!

Yeppers. One of the things that totally knots me up is using the computer!! I have to remind myself to lift me head up and let my spine famm into line. Otherwise, I am in such serious pain I cannot sleep, and get a migraine.

Now is the time to make one of those rice/socks that you put in the microwave for about a minute or two and to put it under that shoulder blade and lie on it for about 10 minutes. Then do some gentle stretches or get a tennis ball and put it between your back and the wall and lean on it. That's the way to do accupressure that "do over" is talking about.

And don't forget to take your aspirin, tylenol or ibuprophen (with food!) to help with the pain. I also like to keep a shawl or hoodie sweatshirt by the computer to keep my shoulders warm while I'm working. Since I've gotten older with fibro I really understand Grandmas and their shawls!!!

My neck and whole upper back clear down my arms are my worse knotted areas. I finally wrote myself a note yesterday to make an app for a massage since I haven't had one in a long time. All those muscles feel way too small for my body.
luv and hugs

oh gosh,
this cold snap has me in a right bind with my shoulders. I honestly feel like i'm going mad. My right shoulder and neck have been a problem for almost two years now but since yesterday norning i'm getting an aching/burning pain in my left side of neck. Without a doubt, massage is the cure but anyone with chrinic pain who doesn;t have aregular income will also know that paying for regular massage is a problem. This is what i can blame my current flare on.
Hot baths with epsom/magnesium slats will definately help as will arnica oil in the bath. I can't even get that luxury at mo as our pipes are all frozen.
Marlee2, when you say your muscles feel too small for your body do you mean too short. When i try to stretch it's so painful and burning, i feel as if my veins are too short also and pull through my i nuts.

This has developed into quite a problem for me this pas couple of months. Prior to that mostly it was my upper back and neck that had me in distress. Now it is lower, right inside both shoulder blades, right down to just below mid back. it is frustrating as I cannot reach it with my liniment, and have to wait for someone to put the cream on, in that area. Often there isn't anyone around to do so, so I found a long back scrubber, which has small handles on both ends which i smear w. the cream and drop it down my back to get the stuff in the right area. I also do the tube sock thing mentioned above. It is debilitating as sometimes I like to do Flea Markets and there is much lugging of heavy boxes. I pay dearly for this, but continue as it keeps me going mentally.
