Good Afternoon all. I was just wondering if anyone here has dealt with Candidiasis. I have had a Dr. in the past tell me that Fibro and Candidiasis can alot of times go hand in hand. As well as hormone problems. My Mother and Sister have both had treatment for this and swear that it does all go together. I have did "some" research on this but not a whole lot. I was just wondering if any of you all have had any dealings with Candidiasis.

Yes. Yeast infections are on the list of symptoms in Fibro 101. Several people have had this problem that are on this forum. I would get them easily if my blood sugars were too high, also. I'm diabetic. If I took a lot of antibiotics, I would get them too. But I have been fine for quite a few years. Like all the symptoms, they seem to come and go.

Hi, Libby! Yep, count me in, too! I had a terrible time w/ them also. I would get a yeast infection EVERY time I had to take an antibiotic. I can't take most antibiotics, as I am allergic to the majority of them. So the ones I can take, all would cause the problem. I was on one a couple of yrs back and had to take another course of them, I said to my dr I was concerned due to my usual reaction of yeast infection. I also had a slight off feeling in my throat. It turned out that time I had the yeast infection turn up in my throat - Thrush!
I only use Summer's Eve fem wash - Sensitive - to clean down there. I was told by my Ob-Gyn (now retired, darn!) to avoid the soap, just use the Summer's Eve, ordinarily in the shower and also after marital relations. I had been given a rx for antifungal - the name escapes me at the moment. It helped to clear it up. Diflucan, is the name. That drove me nuts trying to remember that name. lol. As long as I can avoid antibiotics, I should be ok. I hope!
I had been tested so many times for Diabetes, as that is one of the symptoms that you get, but I always turn up neg. No one ever mentioned FMS, I had to come across that list on my own. That list read like my life story. I found it in a wonderful book yrs ago. Now we have so much info compiled here at the ready. Read over the list of symptoms in Fibro 101, it might surprise you how many things you have that you never associated w/ FMS.
God bless. Alice.

I was plagued with yeast infections til I went through menopause. Now only have problems if I take antibiotics and I don't have diabetes.
Isn't there a home test out now to check for yeast???
luv and hugs

I had them all the time. I don't do sugars or soda or anything but something triggers them. I seem to
notice I still get them more in the summer because of the heat and sweating. Wearing the same
clothes in 100+ temps for an 8 hour work day seems to trigger them more than winter time.
I found Usnea is good for it if you have one. It will kill it off fast. Usnea is fermented tree lichen and
comes in tincture form. If I know I have to go on antibiotics I take acidephollis to cut down on getting one. I've been doing mega doses of echenacia and Colostrum when I start to get sick to kick the immune system into overdrive. It works so well that I only had 2 dr visits for all of 2009. That, my friends, is a new record for me. This year I'm going to see if I can top it.

I get them every time I take antibiotics to the point where my doc knows to just write me a prescript
ion for Diflucan to take at the end of the course. Also, I get them if I drink too many sugary drinks (Coke is my downfall), but most especially if I drink any kind of beer or alcohol. I decided to stop drinking alcohol completely a few years ago because it never really agreed with me, plus the yeast infections were so terrible to deal with.

Have any of you tried to request different antibiotics? I found I cannot use any of the 'cillins because
I automatically get an infection. I found I don't react to Z-pak. I got a roaring sinus infection a few
months ago after inhaling lighter fluid fumes for 2 days and finally broke down and went to the drs.
He prescribed Cipro which is still sitting on my sink as you cannot use it with herbals....Geez, the
dr knows I do herbals so it's just another waste of money.
