Hi! I am new to the group - I was finally diagnosed with Fibro yesterday. Although the pain is tough, I am happy that I can tell people that it's not just "all in my head." I am a veterinarian, so working is very difficult. I am very glad to have found this group, actually through my husband, who is a member of the UC group. I have found a lot of helping info so far and can't wait to learn more!

Hi, Heather, and welcome!  It's nice to meet you.  You have come to a great place.  We have wonderful members that love to help one another and, as a bonus, we really do care about each other, too.  A vet, huh?  We have a ton of true animal lovers on this forum, too.  Me included.
Be sure to check out the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum.  There are links to good information about fibromyalgia and you will learn a lot there.  Since you have gone through that "all in your head" bit, you will like the link called Doctors Respond to New York Times Article.  Anyway, you will get a lot of help in Fibro 101.
Don't hesitate to ask questions.  We are here to help you.  I'm so glad you joined our family.  Your husband knows how great HealingWell is and I think you will like it just as much.  I hope to hear more from you soon.

Welcome, I am a newbie also, just diagnosed on 12-23-09, I have felt it for a few years though and thought it might be arthritis from my Crohns but Rheumy says Fibro and all my joints looked good, at least thats a plus.

Hi Heather. welcome to the family! For me finding this place was a blessing, the people
here are always willing to help one another. We understand the ups and downs of living
with fibro and can share with eachother what has helped us.

I have learned how important it is to pace yourself, even on days you really feel well and
that exercise is important on days that you are flaring. Heat is a fibromites friend, and I think
most of us have bedbuddies or heating pads.

There are many animal lovers here. I have two wonderful cats that are great lap warmers.
Glad you have joined us. Hugs, Robin

Hi Heather, welcome to the fibro family! I've been on this site for about a year and am sooooo glad I found it. I don't know what I would have done without it - it's not journey anyone should take alone.
