I've kinda kept to myself this week but my family needs all the prayers we can get right now. As some of you know my cousin, Teri, has been battling cancer for awhile now. They put her in a hospice facility Sat and we really didn't think she would make it through this week but she has. She has many things going on besides the cancer, she has had three strokes that they know of. We have all told her to let go, it's okay to go, but that is not the way Teri has lived her life and that is not the way she is going to pass. She was so determined to beat the cancer that she never talked about, what if she didn't.

Right now, hopefully, she is comfortable but my heart is breaking for her husband, 24 and 21 yr old chidren that are having to make decisions no one should ever have to make about a loved one.

I talked to one of my cousins this morning and we said a little prayer that this will be taken out of their hands and she will pass quickly. We don't want the three of them to ever question if they did the right thing or not.

I have been where these young people are watching my dad die of cancer when I was 22 and it's a heck of a way to grow up quickly.

So thank you from the bottom of my heart if you can say a little prayer that this will be over for all very soon.

luv and hugs
Marlee

Marlee,
I'm so sorry for your family! You will all be in my prayers. It's so sad when we loose someone we love but to be young and have children so young makes it even harder. I used to work in Hospice and you can be reassured Teri and her family are in the right place. Hospice is such a loving enviroment and sometimes people seem to fear it so much! I hope Hospice has given her family a little blue book called "Gone From My Sight" it is such a help in making those hard decisions. Teri sounds like a remarkable person and she will decide when the time is right and it will be alright! If you need any more help just let me know! You have always been so encouraging to me! I'll be praying! .....Hugs.....
Gentle Blessings
Deb

Marlee, I am so sorry, this is heartbreaking. Your cousin Teri has a very strong will and is
ideed a fighter. I hope she is comfortable. It is very painful watching someone you love die.
I hope that her husband and children will be spared from making life ending decisions and that
God calls her home peacefully.

Marlee, you, Teri and her family are in my thoughts and prayers, sending gentle hugs

Hugs, Robin

I'm so sorry to hear of this.  Praying for her to go peacefully and that her family doesn't have to make any decisions.  My family went through a similar situation last month.  In short, my sister in law (also named Terri) was 32 and went in to repiratory failure and was put on a respirator (and all the rest that goes with life support) for a full day.  She finally went on her own so we were very thankful that her parents (she wasn't married and didn't have children) didn't have to make any of these decisions.  I'm am praying for Teri and the family.

Thank you all very much!!! I haven't gotten an update yet this morning which means she is still hanging in there.

This is a lesson learned, put everything in writing and make your wishes known to your family so they don't have to wonder what you would want when you can no longer make decisions for yourself.

Hugs Marlee! Please know that I will keep you and your family in my prayers. This is truly a difficult time for all, I had to remove my Mom from life support, and it was extremely difficult. Thank God my Mom left a advance directive and we were able to follow her wishes. Blessings to you all.

Marlee, I haven't been on in a bit, so I had no idea until now. I was thinking about you earlier, I guess something was drawing me here.

I know you have been so concerned about your cousin, you mentioned her a short while ago. I was hoping (and praying) that things would turn around for her. She seems to be a very strong woman, it appears to be a family trait.

I pray that she goes peacefully, perhaps, into this good night. My prayers are w/ you and all of yor family. It is so hard to see her suffer, it is so hard to lose her. I'm just so sorry for the pain you are all dealing w/ right now.

My 'hand' is w/ you, as always.

God bless.  Alice.

Sweet Friend~

I, and many others here, have been in your shoes. I too watched my father...we had him with hospice care in his home, next door. You have done all that you can and you realize that you no longer have any control over the situation and that's so very hard. I will also pray that you have strength to accept how this plays out. None of know but we sure do pray that you and your family fine peace...and soon.

Warmest love!
Chutzie

Teri passed this morning after a long hard night for all. She is at peace and will suffer no more.

Now, we concentrate on her husband and children and comforting them in anyway we can.

She would have been 58 on Feb 2. She has a twin brother and I don't think he will be celebrating birthdays for a long time nor her husband who's birthday is a couple days after her's.

We have some silly things pop into our heads when these things happen and I thought shortly after she passed, "how is her two little dogs going to understand that Mommy didn't desert them"??? Dogs are in our family's blood, it runs strong and deep.

Thank you all so very much for all your thoughts and prayers!!! Don't know what I would do without my Fingertip family.

luv and hugs

Marlee, I haven't checked in for a while and got in on the last of this, but I would just like you to know that you and Teri's family are in my prayers.  She's at peace now and out of her suffering.
I'm so glad that the family didn't have to make any decisions.  God is great and such a comfort at a time like this.

God Bless!
